Was the Johny Byrne diving header not the best moment ever

Liverpool in there prime. 5,000 Brighton at Anfield. 2 - 0 down with no hope then a penalty, 2 - 1 (Small). Then 15 to go a pinpoint cross...Byrne diving through the sky up our end....the net bulged...glorious scenes. 2 - 2 it can't be true. Scousers applauding, Skipping across Stanley Park , the Big Burger outside the ground. Clapped by the Man Utd coach on the way home

What a day !!

It was bloody fantastic.

I was only like 11 or sumat, no ten. Everyone around me was making sure I was having a graet time and that. I was lvong it.

Remember a guy in front of me turning round at the end and asking me if I enjoyed the game and I told him that it was brilliant and we started jumping up and down.

f***ing hell I enjoyed that.

Makes me sad in a way.

:albion:

ps We have GOT to do the same to Spurs.

'You're supposed to be at home'.

Let's give em all we've got!

Is this building up to a similar scenario at White hart Lane in 2 1/2 weeks time

something like a McCammon hatrick in the last ten minutes after Defoe and Kanoute score in the first half

what about Clive Walker bearing down on goal in the last few minutes only to lose condfidence and wait for other players to back him up and lose possesion

That's for me to know.

Why all the questions?

Thats what Auditors do...ask awkward questions

seriously no reason.."believe" seemed strange..thought it would be yes or no answer

On NSC for over two decades...
I listened to this game on my Walkman in my room (you could still get Radio Sussex commentary in Surrey in those days). My Mum wandered into my room to ask me a question just as Budgie scored and I accidentally kicked her as I jumped up in excitement!!!!

:clap2: :lolol: :clap2:

Crumplin nut-megged John Barnes at Anfield. I will take that joy to my grave.
The only game I've ever cried at. You'll never walk alone sung by the faithfull at full blast on the 90th minute. Marvellous

To be fair, I don't think Liverpool were really in their prime - they were on their way out. Still, they were a top 5 or 6 side at the time and we looked dead and buried at 2 down.

I remember that day because some scally kids offered to "mind my car" for 20 pee, and of course my JOHNNY CRUMPLIN FOOTBALL T-SHIRT absolutely ROCKED.
