He is another classic example of an entitled dickhead who thought he was the finished article, when it turns out he wasn’t. If he’d have knuckled down and fought for his place instead of going on strike then we wouldn’t have needed to buy Verbruggen, and he’d have got his chance again and likely overtaken Steele. He’d now have a couple more seasons under his belt away from the limelight and pressure of that vile club, and probably ironed out the mistakes and would be approaching becoming a real top class keeper, with a big money move impending where he could really make the most of his talent.
Instead he’s got Chelsea fans saying he’s the worst keeper they’ve ever seen, and they’ll offload him to a bang average top flight Spanish club like Osasuna or someone at the end of the season and he’ll have a completely unremarkable career.
