Was bringing BZ in a way to shut the fans up?

Shut the fans up? You mean a few people having a bit of a moan up on here and other social media that we've not been spending like Midds or Derby. It's not like there have been protests outside the club offices or TB's house.

Jokes aside, you'd have to be pretty intellectually challenged to believe that the club are going to pay someone presumably big wages (by our standards) for a year to 'shut the (0.1% of our fanbase that have a moan-up on NSC) fans up'.

Of course it was, if we hadn't made any signings by Friday and lost 1 nil to Forest the atmosphere around the ground would have been extremely negative and signing Zamora was one way to avoid this. I find it highly doubtful he would have signed when he did, if we had been successful in our pursuit of Marshall.

That's not the only reason but I'm sure it played a big part to him signing when he did.

This has got me thinking really. BZ even said himself it was all over so quickly. Was his arrival a way for TB and PB to shut the fans up about bringing in anymore players and silently admitting there'll be no more Sounds to me abit suss.

In the club approved news / feature a few minutes after Zamora's arrival there's a quote from Hughton where he says

I don't think that's the last of transfer activity either. I thinmk we are paying players to come in and try and help win football matches. It seems that some people think that every activity within the club should be treated like an Agetha Christie mystery.

It's true and all that, but it's easyish to think along the lines of the OP I think. The dissatisfaction in the lack of attacking signings was really building up if NSC is anything to gauge it by.
The signing of BZ certainly seems to have placated most on here which is probably a great relief ahead of the fans forum and the first game.

I reckon he'll be on the bench - definitely won't start though.

Even if he's not in the squad you can guarantee that he'll be on the pitch either before kick-off or at half-time.

You do ask a good question, where was he on our target list? BZ has maintained that he always wanted to come back, yet a few of the ITK people on here had said that it was not looking likely a few weeks back. I am glad he signed and think he is what the fans needed, as for the club, I do wonder if they had got some of the targets they had gone for, would we have signed him this week or ever. He is 34 and injury prone. Time will tell.

No point in splashing out a large sum on another player, the present squad backed up with the managers experience should be quite capable of holding a mid-table position.
