These lads need to be told that the championship is a marathon not a sprint and winning their first two games can only lead to fade and fatigue later in the season. All the other top sides are being far more cautious by drawing their early games.

333/3, well that's put the mockers on the rest of the season. Double 333 and you get 666, the devils number. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

This has to be a new low for The Bears. A crashing defeat that will reverberate around the suburbs of Selly Oak, Perry Barr and Digbeth. Dougie Brown better get his tin hat, it wasn't like this with Ashley Giles in charge back in the day.

Bowling looking strong, but only on wickets that lend a hand.

Weight of runs spread amongst only a few batsmen.

Great start but we may not be as robust as we appear to be.

You have forgotten that we don't have a spin bowler worth the name either.

2 games in and our lower order are woefully short of competitive batting

Another very impressive display. A pal who is well acquainted with Scottish cricket (he reports for a few of the local papers up here) tells me that Matt Macon is one of the best new emerging talents that the Scottish Cricketing cogniscente have seen play for Scotland since the days of Dougie Brown. Brighton born I believe with a Scottish parent.

Sussex threw that match away, the result was an embarrassment. Losing three wickets on a worn surface, chasing a paltry score like that.

Joyce out.

Love the phrase " I tell thee" if done with a Yorkshire accent when married with your avatar.

Only bettered by his brilliant casting as a Roman Centurion at the crucifixion and saying in an American drawl " He surely was the son of God !"

Given how the four innings panned out, do you think Warwickshire just MIGHT regret the decision to bat first?
