Then for the first time in Footballing history, we would have a Ladyboy in charge of a football club.

The team spirit has disintegrated. How will you blame that on Dick Knight? The "gutless performances" I reffered to didn't just mean Stoke, they were common throughout the season.Icy Gull said:The bizarre tactics are BECAUSE of no money and the gutless performances are down to being outplayed for two seasons by better teams resulting in a very poor last performance of the season by a relegated team. I don't recall the promotion season and the season we stayed up being anything even close to gutless. Daft argument.

And how does the fact we've not got much money account for making stupid team selections and subs? Did McGhee think "ah, f*** it, we've got no money, let's play El-Abd on the right wing"
It's Mark McGhee who takes the team talks (well, he's who is supposed to at any rate), not Ann De Vecchi.Icy Gull said:Teams like companies eventually succumb to being the poor relations in a competitive environments. Are you really that misguided and anti Mcghee that you cannot see how the f*** up on Falmer and the constant struggle to compete on an equal footing eventually results in morale being affected.
Erm, no, it doesn't. I understand what the apologists claim he was trying to do with that substitution perfectly. It's just that it was farcical. The fact that we don't have a lot of money to strengthen means we need to get the best out of what we've got. Something McGhee abjectly failed to do.Icy Gull said:The glib comment about El Abd shows a complete lack of understanding of what McGhee was TRYING to do with tactics and players.

Especially when you only get £125k for them... Sorry, couldn't resistIcy Gull said:So selling your best players and being given a pittance to replace them has no bearing on the quality of the replacements?

He was hardly given a pittance. What he was given should've been adequate to replace a 9 goal striker and a quick but inconsistent left back.Icy Gull said:So selling your best players and being given a pittance to replace them has no bearing on the quality of the replacements? yeah right and if you think the ongoing saga of Falmer does not affect the morale of the club then I just give up on arguing with you.
£100k bid for Tom Brighton? Numerous attempts to sign Shipperly, as well as Barnard on loan?Icy Gull said:yup, when you get a big fat ZILCH to replace the little shit with

Utter and total denial about the state of our finances. WAGES are the key thing when operating in the transfer market and we do not pay enough to be able to put out a team that is of even near Championship quality. That we survived two years in that league was a miracle.Silent Bob said:He was hardly given a pittance.

spunkmonkey said:Lloyd got lucky with one player - Gary Nelson. What about Byrne/Small/Gotsmanov/Keeley/Beeney/Foster/Gall etc?
I don't disagree that he had no personality but he signed some bloody good players for us, i'd kill to see players of that quality at our club now.
