Clearly there has been hold ups, now is a time the club will need to open up and explain what the bloody hell has gone wrong, time to start naming and shaming.

That also includes whether or not it was down to the Albion themselves, or Ward or Wolves pissing us around.

Of course there is absolutely NO proof the club are to blame, but hey, who cares - wont stop the abuse against them

You are right. Maybe we were just unlucky with Grabban, Ward, Clayton.... Or maybe we are just inept penny pinchers, trying to screw down on every deal to save money. I did hear that agents hate dealing with us because of it, and will always try and find another deal.

I'd say he likes Premier League football better. Just a hunch

I'd stick my neck out and agree with that.
Strangely, Upson and Ward, prefer to earn a PL salary 2 or 3 times greater than a Championship salary (not the 'quibbling' over an extra grand or so per week, often reeled out in comments).

He can get fkd, relegation inevitable at Burnley (and no not here!), another one gone for the money and PL 'lights'. Not welcome at my club. Gutted for those working at the Albion to secure this deal. Awful news.

So this is how you 'monitor' and swoop... Great stuff. I don't blame the Albion, I blame the player. The wait was down to Wolves, the deal was seemingly agreed with the player and he's taken the offer of more money. No loyalty, no class, no thanks.

Kosh

Was the deal agreed with wolves?

Joke. We should have stopped quibbling over a few quid (seeing how we've sold roughly £14 million of talent since January) weeks ago. Can't say I blame him - basically saying we only want him if it's on the cheap after a great season doesn't send out a great message, does it?

The club really needs to explain its position. The obvious failures in acquiring targets is astonishing, it'd be completely arrogant to deny there's a problem somewhere. The club seems to think it can pick up bargains or if not; won't spend. We've been told PLR means a slight increase in cost of service/product in order to bring in quality. Aside from Stockdale, who's been quality?

My issue isn't that if this continues fans will drift away because they can't be bothered anymore, but actually the financial impact of raising prices marginalising poorer fans so that they can't go anymore. I saw pictures of the stadium during/after Wednesday, plenty of empty seats to be seen. The long term financial impact of being far too stingy on the purse strings will have a negative effect.

Why would fans continue to pay top Championship prices for mediocre football? We've inevitably profitted from these sales. So Barber/Bloom; either spend a bit of what we've got or use the profits to decrease prices temporarily to entice those lost fans back to bring in more revenue.

Who would blame him, playing in the premiership, not something you could turn down.
Exactly. We're not the prospect we were even last time he played for us, let alone the year before - & we don't seem to have exactly made him feel that wanted.
Good luck to the bloke

So he gets one season back in the PL (again), where he'll be utterly out of his depth again. Relegation then sold due to his ludicrous wage demands. Monkeys learn quicker. Good luck to him, he'll need it.

But the club keep emailing and texting about Xmas parties at The Amex to us all! Staff at the very top of the club need to remember that football is the important bit.

this really is the ****ing icing on top of a HUGE ****ing cake. we get the funds from selling our best players... funds which amass to over £15 million yet we still cant tempt in to our club a player who we had for a whole season already. he clearly see's something in the club that isn't quite right if hes turned us down to be a second-choice left-back at a low-level premier league club.

if this does materialise into something true then burke really needs to take a look at himself. it also wouldn't hurt for him to jump off the top of the west-upper.

this is the true definition of NSC meltdown but some situations ****ing demand it

The difference between the EPL and Championship presumably made no difference whatsoever?
