Not getting Chelsea at home is bad - missed out on TV money there can see dunk going now as we need the revenue - hopefully some will get to the squad - we need another striker and we need someone who can supply blaming cog for the pen is one thing but we have had a lot of pens this season and scored few goals which means we will lose when teams take their chances

Just back from game, it was like watching last seasons team all over again, very poor in centre of midfield and COG had a nightmare. Can't understand why Chris didn't change it when they equalised given the poor performance? Good away support, we deserved better than this display!

So through stupidity we now don't have a money spinning game. All this crap about resting these super fit, professionally analysed by medics on a weekly basis, athletes gets my goat.

They play Saturday and then have a bloody rest ffs

So this stupid under-estimating of the opposition, and the lack of ambition in a national cup competition, has cost us a home tie against Chelsea.
It doesn't even make financial sense now. Team Hughton, but a ricket tonight - no, two rickets actually - the second was not nominating the penalty taker.

Hughton was right to ring the changes. The league is more important. Some of our players let themselves down tonight and not the team selection.

He was not getting into the box. His runs were too straight. His movement was terrible. He was running at defenders rather than into space. His control put team-mates in trouble. His penalty was five yards over the bar. Not his night.

I was only half-listening and switched off at the final whistle so there may be more.

thank you.

Er.. think its been said

**** you.

Got what we deserved in fairness. Couldn't blame Maenpaa for either goal but positionally Dunk and Rea didn't gel and Dunk didn't really help in organising the defence in the way Greer, for all his faults, does so well. Calde is not a left back and Rosenior looked surprisingly out of sorts. JFC was the best of our midfield. Ince okay but Holla less of an influence than I hoped. March as always flattered to deceive, Murphy had a bit of a stinker when he did get the ball which wasn't often, and COG was isolated and didn't respond to having his family watching. We weren't awful but once again we let the game get away rather than take control once we scored.
Not a worry in the greater scheme of things but a timely reminder that we still have a way to go.

Personally I thought we played well first half and should of gone in 3 up at the break. Came out a different side in the second and let Wallsal get back in the game. Penalty miss cost us the game

Well I think he was wrong to change the team. Keep the unbeaten run going and the momentum. We will probably lose Saturday anyway so the resting of players will have been for nothing and cost £££ (Remember Hull in the FA cup when we threw away the chance of the quarter finals to save the players for the league and we got stuffed anyway).

Disagree. The forwards aren't firing so a good chance for them to get a better understanding. And to change the formation was stupid. Rest some but anywhere near as many as he did is stupid. The team he put out is the type you put out in a preseason "second" level friendly not a valued cup competition.

Just because the likes of the arrogant one doesn't value it doesn't mean true fans don't. Hopefully when Chelsea play someone can stick the **** on a RAC aerial on their control centre.

Complete bo11ocks. Maybe rest two or three if you feel you must, but for heaven's sake, take every match seriously.
Winning is a habit; we've just lost it (and a dream home tie with Chelsea).

Managers always say that matches like these are a chance for fringe players to show them why they should be in the team. So at least CH won't have to deal with players demanding to know why they've been left out again on Saturday ...

So that's a price worth paying for dropping out of the league cup, missing out on a home tie with Chelsea and losing the winning habit, is it?
