Think most of us accept that we probably won't be making the play offs but it would be tremendous to get 3 points tonight and would convert many into play off believers ! Would really put us in a strong position with some of the other games going on tonight.

Lets hope after saturday where it sounds like we were unlucky we can really have a go , walsall can have an off day and we can get a morale boosting win.

Think we'd all take a point byt get 3 points and we are going to be loving it !

Sod the Carlisle result , they look destined for top 2 anyway !

tonight is Major !

I don't think Walsall losing at the weekend does us any favours, how often do teams lose two games in a row at home?

I'd take a draw but then we'd need to beat Doncaster...

Need to win. All out attack is required or I'll be leading the "Wilkins out!" calls around 9:45pm this evening.

I feel that we have blown our chances of the play offs and even a win tonight will only bring a false dawn. We do not have a midfield good enough to gain promotion and we lack any strength in depth. We have nobody sitting on the bench who could significantly change a game plus the 3 clowns in charge wouldnt know how to do that anyway.

We must look to next season and hope that there is a wholesale clear out of under performing players, players who have potential and have had for 3 or 4 years and not improved, and the management/coaching staff. If this happens we can begin to prepare for a title challenge to enable us to be in a decent position in The Championship to open Falmer.

I reckon the first team squad is looking to have much more potential since the clearout in January when we sold boys and bought men. The rest of the deadwood (Loft, Gatting, Mayo, OGH) will be quietly farmed out or got rid of next season. IMHO, like.

Nice idea, are you going to fund it then?

It would be foolish to get rid of Wilkins when he is slowly but surely shaping the squad how he wants it, and generally that has been an improvement. Getting anyone else in isn't going to change how we have to approach squad building. We will probably finish around mid table but there has been progression from last year, and if we make the same progress again next year we will be in the top 6.

If I was in the position to I would most definitely. I accept that it will have to be gradual process like being selective in who is offered a new contract and deciding that they are not going to make it and replace them with others who may.

It would be interesting to know who is out of contract this summer. Obviously the ones that have been brought in and I must admit have improved the squad generally, will be on 2 or 3 year contracts, but I am more concerned about the likes of Gatting, Loft, Fogden, Rents, Mayo, Hart, Reid, Hinshlewood, even O Sullivan, who DW is reluctant to show any confidience in and Guy who must be wondering about whether or not he will get back into the side. Robinson is another who has great potential but when will he realize it and show what he can do. Even when he comes on as a sub he doesnt sparkle very often. Martot will hopefully go back to France and obscurity. That leaves Chapman and White and the least said about them the better if performances on the field are how they are judged.

Can't comment on their input but calling DW a clown (I assume he was the 3rd one that you were referring to) is harsh in the extreme. There has been a steady improvement and given the overall quality of the majority players he has brought in I personally can't think of anyone in this division who has done a better job given the financial restrictions he has had to work under.

Promotion would probably come a season too early if we went up this time (tho wouldn't say no to the spin-off revenue). But I for one will be having some fairly massive bets on promotion next season, when Forster and Murray gel and score forty goals between them, and T.Elphick, Lynch, Tommy Fraser and Joel Lynch do likewise. Gel, that is, not score forty goals between them... Oh, and FDM at the back of course, shouting 'AWAY!'

not sure about that seeing as we've had money to bring in who we want

I appreciate what DW is trying to do but unfortunately the end result, in poor performances and falling gates, which indicate that many are unhappy, tends to blanket the 3 of them under one cover and unless anybody can identify the cause of the problem then all 3 will be banded together as 1 team.

If and it is only an if, we had a terrible run of results which resulted in us getting relegated would DK sack Dean Wilkins and promote either IC or DW I doubt it very much as history has shown they would probably all be replaced so they are 1 team all in the shit or glory together.

I know a load of stalwart Albion fans who don't put in much of an appearance at Withdean on account of the near-25-quid admission money. Nothing at all to do with DW or performances. I doubt that a play-off place or even promotion, would reverse the trend of falling attendances, while there's a four quid travel voucher surcharge imposed on residents of Brighton & Hove, who never use the damn thing.
