I can answer where this one came from.

After Mendoza mentioned what the Bristol Rovers scout said I emailed a couple of contacts at Walsall and Bristol newspapers asking if they had heard anything about the rumour.

Im guessing they then ran a speculative story. Since appeared in a few midlands rags and mentioned in our very own Argus.

All came from NSC.

Never underestimate a sports journalist's need to generate a story every day...

That was what was said when the story first appearred in the papers in January long before it was on NSC or in The Argus.

Perhaps, but the fact it has raised its head again is pretty much down to the Bristol Rovers scout comments and what happened after that.

If he did sign for Walsall I hardly think that he would be required to live within a 5 minute walk of the stadium so the area will have no bearing on his decision. He could quite easily move back to where he lived when at Coventry or wherever he chose (and could afford).

Hope he doesn't go as while I think he can sometimes be caught out of position, he does have the spirit that the team needs.
