Fulham would be my choice for the third spot.
Sorry chap, but you can ignore what Wagner SAID, after the game. We have EYES.
You turned up for a 0-0 draw, and Ward particularly was blatantly time wasting right from kick-off. It was a HORRIBLE spectacle - a daft given how your team are capable of playing.
IF we go up, tbh I don't want any of the teams currently in the play-off positions to go up. If it were Leeds or Sheffield Weds, we'd never hear the end of it. Global media would be in melt down. If it were Reading it would be ridiculous - how can a team lose 7-1 and still be promoted? The least worst option is, of course, Hudds. But Wagner has spoiled it for me - if Hudds went up it would be all about him. So, come on Fulham!
Lol.....No they haven'tI think Hudds have an outside chance of catching Newcastle still. They are home playing Preston next who got demolished by Leeds so their promotion push is over. Newcastle are at home to Leeds next who probably need the points more. The next game for Hudds comes soon afterwards and Derby will have been away to Brentford a few days earlier so might be tired and also their promotion chances are over now too. Newcastle are away to Ipswich who have lost less at home than Newcastle have I think. So if the results go Hudds' way then they could be very close with a game in hand which would give them a boost for their home game against Fulham to possibly get to 83 points. Newcastle will then have a tricky game against Preston two days later and would be under pressure.
I posted elsewhere that Hudds could start to smell blood and get a boost if Leeds beat Newcastle (who have had some strange home defeats). Preston's play off hopes are over now so Hudds have a good chance of beating them next, especially as they are at home where they are usually impressive at. The only away game Hudds have in the three games is against Derby but they have just lost their promotion chances too and would have been away to Brentford a few days earlier. So if Newcastle fail to beat Ipswich too (they only lost 4 games at home compared to 5 for Newcastle I think) then Hudds will have ae boost for their home game with Fulham and could possibly get to 83 while Newcastle will be on 84 or 85 if my predictions happen. It's not all that unlikely. Newcastle would then be under pressure for their 44th game against Preston two days after Hudds play.
Nope. I also remember it well. It was hilarious to watch their keeper rushing to take every kick after he'd spent the past hour wasting as much time as possible.I thought it was just me who remembered that game for their time wasting.

Wagner made one dumb comment to gee up his troops and I don't think we should be obsessing about that.
I look at what he's done as very similar to what Hughton did last season. If we deserved to go up last season, so do Hudds this season. Who will? Them or Leeds I reckon

Indeed, if Reading were promoted there'd only be 2 relegation places to avoid. But Fulham is a great away trip and although I loathe them, Reading is very doable, plus they aren't particularly good.
If they get to 89 points and are cheated out of promotion by shit refs, then I'll agree, they deserve it.I look at what he's done as very similar to what Hughton did last season. If we deserved to go up last season, so do Hudds this season.

Wagner's comments were ill advised. Especially as they probably referred to play-off performances and not our run of form such as winning 5 in 6 games in April last year.
I think Wagner must now confront there real bottlers. His loan players. They were the stars of his show but have no emotional investment or financial commitment to care as much as his permanent players.
