He's made a horse's arse of himself twice now commentating on our games.

The main commentator was very patronizing when we scored the freekick saying how wonderful it must be for Brighton blah blah blah. As for Waddle, he has such an obvious downer on us because we beat his beloved Newcastle you could hear him almost gag when we did something good and his dissing of Calderon on about five minutes was the most unfair commentary ever to have been spoken, ever.

Waddle was an embarrassment to ESPN. Not once did he say anything positive about Brighton in either of the games, there is something deep down in him that dislikes our club(and its not just that we beat Newcastle in the last round)

He was in the Newcastle team we beat in 1983 and he has never forgiven us for it - said as much during his comments on the game in the 4th round.

He has a chip on his shoulder and it is clear when the commentator coaxed it out if him in the last round that this is the reason why.

I can't say I've ever thought that he is a particularly bad pundit, but he has proved that when it comes to The Albion, he's really not worth listening to.

His continuous abuse of Calderon was wholly unfair and slightly bizarre. Comments like "he's rubbish at defending" don't have a place in football commentary and just seem a little bit childish IMHO.

Why were they all going on and on about El Abd? Pretty much every defender puts their arms around/'interferes with' the centre-forward at set pieces. Especially if it's a lump like Carroll. If it had been a foul, the ref would have blown the whistle. Were they expecting him to just watch and marvel?

Waddle even tried to make something of his Egyptian heritage at one point, as if that had anything to do with anything.

There were some rather strange comments, they were slating El Abd for the crap that goes on in the box, IMO 6 of one 1/2 dozen of the other but Carrol was just more subtle with it, the comment about Calderon can't defend was a cheap shot.

I presume it was Waddle that said Caulderon shouldn't be jumping in - fair comment as he does jump in too easily and too often.
It was also mentioned that Brighton play at the same pace and should mix it up - also a fair comment.
It was also mentioned after Noone's long ball to CMS that Brighton should mix it up like that more often - also a fair comment.
I and others have said all of the above in the past and Brighton will need to do this to improve.
