Hi all

I bought one yesterday, (well, for the kids as Mrs Spongy believes).

A Metaquest 2...... Never been on any kind of VR before and must say I really enjoyed it but I think it gave me motion sickness as I felt weird when I took it off, either the headset or the several ciders I'd drank beforehand did, anyway, does anyone else have one and have any good games to recommend?

First person shooters seem the way to go mainly but need some games for the 9 year old as well.....

I used to have the original VR headset for my PS5, never suffered motion sickness but it can be very draining if you play for any length of time. Anything like a space simulator where you can move in any direction will be more likely to churn your guts, you definitely feel your stomach drop in games like that.
First person shooters are very good, Arizona Sunshine which is a zombie shooter, and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood which is a rollercoaster shooter (sounds weird but great fun)
Driving games are amazing and feel very immersive, especially if you have wheels and pedals.

I do want one just for Gran Turismo 7, but my head says don't be stupid that's more expensive than the actual Ps5 cost!!!!

Golf + is very good, been playing with my brothers for years. Much better than a phone call to catchup. Motion sickness will pass it’s just time.

Walkabout Mini Golf and Eleven Table Tennis are both superb. Neither should be too challenging from a motion sickness point of view.
The latter is, IMO, probably the most accurate sports sim of any kind, ever.

Edit: may as well mention my game, Killer Pool. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's free and you can hassle the dev to make it better if you want

The wife has left me at home and taken the kids to her parents and staying over for the day so I'm watching the game in peace and quiet but they've taken the Quest to theirs so will have to wait I'm afraid

I've got a 9yo old too.

Definitely check out Moss 1 and 2. Fantastic and totally addictive, inside a storybook, platform adventure, each room is an escape room type thing. You'll love it too
