Volcanic ash looking like it MAY be a problem over UK airspace in the next 48 hours

Though not officially closed, NCL hasn't received any air traffic over the past 30 minutes and flights are diverting elsewhere. Doesn't look to be super-permanent though but currently no fixed timeframes.

Yeah apparently NCL airport is staying open all day but more and more flights are getting cancelled, EasyJet have cancelled all until 7pm but no doubt that deadline will be extended again and again.

Well, our aircraft has been unable to land and is now diverting elsewhere and staff at NCL suggesting that nothing is coming or going at all over the last hour. Looks like some Scottish airports will start operating again later on tonight, and the 'Red Zone' will be away from the UK tomorrow so shouldn't be affecting any air traffic over the UK. Fingers crossed.

Any news on the eruption itself? I read somewhere that it's mainly blown itself out, as it were.

Michael O'Leary still having a rant on the radio news...................clearly putting profit before the wellbeing of his passengers. How very RyanAir....

If there wasn't a problem why would BA and other cash strapped airlines have ceased relevant flights?

He sounds just like Saddam's Minister of Information claiming 'There are no American infidels in Baghdad. NEVER!'. There is no ash cloud...
