I have just started a new phone contract with Vodafone. I was with O2 for a good few years but as I had a problem with them and after three emails I not only didn't get the right answer but got in fact information that I had specifically asked them not to send so I decided to move on.

I went with Vodafone as they used to have a much better signal where I live. My phone was ported whilst I was at work and I didn't check it when I got home. When I tried it the next day I found I had no signal. I contacted them and here I am five days later still waiting for a reply. To cap it all I'm now in Canada and I was unable to use their 'Passport' package for calling from abroad. For some reason the phone wouldn't work at Gatwick. I emailed them from there and still I have no response.

I'm cancelling the contract obviously but I am amazed at just how poor they are.

Are you on holiday in CANADA, Frank?

Surely you should wait until your return before cancelling?

The problem is that I need to have a phone here. I'm up in North Bruce which is pretty spread out so you need to be able to keep in contact. I'm not going to be back in the UK until January and I know I'll be getting voice mail about work so I do need to keep in touch.

Apart from that of course I have no complaints. It's a lot more laid back here than Toronto and I have even managed to borrow a large dog to walk ! Scenery is great and I think this could be my best ever Christmas and it will be White !

How can you think that Frank is more concerned about informing us that he was on holiday in CANADA than his mobile contract?

I've already done that I was just warning people about how crap Vodafone are.

Unbelievably I have had a response from Vodaphone as I have told them I am cancelling my contract. However, despite telling them I was in Canada they have told me to ring their 191. Would be a great idea if I was in the UK but, oh yes, I'm not !

Shit firm of the day award goes to Vodafone.
