I feel exactly the same as Psychobilly, that's exactly the term I use to describe it to people. However, some pointers:

DON'T stay at the Excalibur.

Check out the Bellagio and the Wynn, even if you're not staying there. Very nice. Also, probably the best buffets are at these two.

Under no circumstances miss the Grand Canyon, it's awesome in the original and truest sense of the word. The Hoover dam is OK, but the bridge they're building above it to take the traffic off it is much more impressive, if you ask me.

Don't miss the rides at the top of the Stratosphere - I did all three and they're proper scary, really good stuff.

Finally, forgive me if you know all this already - if you're gambling, even on one of the cheapest fruit machines, the drinks are basically free. A tip to the waitress is all that's needed, and ensures they keep coming. Drinking at the bars without gambling however, and the prices are like buying a drink at a 'fashionable' club off the King's Road.

Agreed, the rides at the top of Stratosphere are a must. You might not enjoy it when you first walk out on top of the hotel though !!

We stayed at Circus Circus. Although one of the older hotels on the strip, served a purpose for a stag party of 20 odd !!!

Get a helicopter ride from Vegas over the Grand Canyon, don't drive it you will see so much more.

Take your i.d with you, if you reckon you are a young looking bloke you will be asked and I promise you will be refused access. They are ridiculous concerning i.d.

Try a small restaurant called the Peppermill for breakfast huge portions, well cooked and pretty cheap.

I agree regarding the peppermill.

Actually was pretty much opposite Circus Circus.

I did a skydive just outside Vegas, absolutely brilliant, I would highly recommend it.

Stay in one of the hotels near the main new part of the strip, much more convenient than having to get from Stratosphere or Circus Circus. I stayed in Imperial Palace, cheap and cheerful and right near all the action.

Ha Ha good post, got back Last Sat! Celebrated my 40th too, I stayed at the signiture?mgm basicaly three towers attached to the MGM with use of all facilities, had a 31 floor suite there $129 per night, a great place if you want to retreat each day from the mess, non gaming complex so nice and relaxed!

Can't recall the name, but across the strip from the Treasure Island water/galleon display there's a good motel. The flashes of coloured lights from the display adds to the general feeling of being there.
You can wander the strip using the pools at the big hotels, and it'll work out a lot cheaper.

I spend a couple of weeks there every year and always stay at the Hotel at Mandalay Bay. Probably would not recommend it for November though as its main draw is the waterpark, which i think is closed at that time of year. It is also right down the end of the strip, which is not ideal for a first visit. If i was you i would definately consider Caesars Palace which is still a top hotel and centrally located on the strip.
If you want to try something a bit different then i would definately recommend a trip to the gun store. You can fire any gun imaginable - AK47, desert eagle , oozi etc. No ID required and a great way to spend an hour or so. Details can be found in any of the tourist guides - given away around the strip.

You can search in the internet with the help of google to know the details. These websites what you will get will help you to compare the prices and the environment also. There are so many hotels in charleston offering so many benefits for the people to stay and to relax.

I stayed at the Stratosphere which was decent enough and cheaper than some of the other major hotels on the Strip (it was about half the price of New York New York), plus you get a discount to the observation deck on the top of the tower and the ride up there (which there was no way I was going to try!).

Someone mentioned that it is away from the main area of the Strip, and it is, but it's a five minute walk or if you are a lazy bastard you can get the bus that runs throughout the day and night along the Strip.

i went for my 40th there, and we organised white water rafting down the grand canyon, great experience but went at the wrong time year (april) the season starts then and alot of water comes down of the mountains so the 'white' or rapids are not very fierce.
turned out to be really cold aswell after you get soaked, had to sail for 2 hours for the pick up point by helicopter. the wind picked up en route and was told by the guides that if it was too windy, the helicopter wouldn't be able to pick us up so would be another 2 hr journey:wrong:
well worth it for the sights thou.....
