woah this lad is absolute mustard, knew Tony probably had an eye on him as he scored a hat trick against USG earlier this season. Will be very impressed if we get this done. worth every penny
Has terrific strength and power combined with quick feet and plenty of flair. Looks a bargain at £30m. I would say they have been tracking this lad for a while.

I dont know how it works with a buyout clause but surely if there's a number of clubs willing to meet it, there's nothing stopping another club coming in and offering more.
There's no point offering more as the selling team have no say in accepting an offer once it matches the release clause.

Only reason to bid more is if you don't want to do it all up front and pay in installments instead like Chelsea are trying with Enzo Fernandez.

For those asking I believe the 30M would have to be paid instantly to trigger the clause. There’s nothing to stop a buying club saying we’d rather not do that but we’ll give you 15M now and 17M over the next 24 months if it suits the buyer better. Perhaps because they’re getting money incoming from instalments themselves over next 24 months from sales of a CB/RB, a DM, a LWB and a grouchy forward player. If the selling club agree that extra long term money is beneficial to them then fine it’s a sale, whether officially for the clause or not. Maybe a club are happy to have some extra money long term from club B, than the clause meeting offer from club A. Can’t reject A but can additionally accept B and leave it to the player. Other clubs may prefer less but all upfront and can reject or negotiate with B, but have no option to reject A as it meets the clause. Every business is different.

On the player, seems about right price. Not insane money compared to most Prem clubs but young, semi-proven and thus better for us right now than our typical 4M signings. Maybe in 18 months when we sell this guy to Spurs, Buonotte (spelling) will have cemented his place like Mitoma did compared to this ready now Trossard type signing.
Correct - to be activated but out clauses have to be paid in full up front

However selling club might agree to structured deal (above Buy out clause)

It’s basically what Chelsea are doing with Enzo and offering to pay £10m more

Won’t pretend to know whether he’s any good but, on the basis we’d only be interested if he’s very decent indeed, would like this one to happen. Seems like the kind of player we’d have had little chance of landing before. Might not this time, of course.

But the player could still decide he doesn’t want to go to the club that triggers the release clause….
