Follow the dealer... on Roulette I have a fairly nice profit from WH casino this month if the ball lands in say 2 first spin then play 25-17-34-21- 19 -4 next spin if it lands in 26 play 0-32-15-3 and so on try and play the neighbours of the previous number ....but remeber every time the ball is spun either on real on virtual Roulette the odds revert back to the same at every spin there is no continum therefore the odds are the same for every spin irrespective of previous results

I was about to pipe up about how it is impossible to generate a true random number from a computer when you hit me with this;

impressive!

To generate as damn-near-close as a truely random number from a computer alone (no geiger counters....), you use a "random device" which uses "entropy" from the system to generate randomness. The entropy is fed by the timing between keystrokes on the keyboard, "noise" from the sound card/network card/modem/graphics card drivers, mouse movements, etc. Its not random, but anyone trying to crack the randomness would need to be able to see the person using the machine and time them exactly.

Unfortunately, the less entropy feeders you have, the less random it is. Web servers usually have no keyboard/mouse/graphics or sound cards to grab randomess from....

Random numbers are generated using a set formula usually encorporating some massive prime number. to create the illusion that it is random the formula requires 'seeding'. In the most basic example a time stamp is used. Given that the time stamp is probabaly in tiny fractions of a second it is near impossible to predict. The above methods you have mentioned are just a continuation of this idea.

Whoever came up with the idea of using the readings off a Geiger counter is a genius! Mind you, you'll probably get some smart arsed chaos theory buff that will know how to predict radioactivity!

Wonder if their server is located near Chernobyl.....

Friend of mine (electronic bloke) created a random generator based on system time (to very lowest values), disc reads per second, cpu usage and memory usage, couples with temperature readings (to infinately small fractions) from cpu and case. Seemed to work well...... When working with the slightest fractions, this would be pretty hard to guess I reckon. Funnily enough, it was something he was doing for an online system...

My code at work gets more random, the more beer I consume at lunchtime. Mmmmmm the Beerriom Randomizer..

Worthing
I used to test on-line casino software and ours certainly wasn't rigged.

They make their money by keeping you playing as long as possible and taking their cut.

FACTS:

GAME HOUSE EDGE CHARACTERISTICS
Roulette 1.35-2.7% No skill. Volatile
Blackjack ~1% Skill important
Casino Stud Poker 2.5% Negligible skill factor
Punto Banco 1.17-1.36% No skill.
Craps 0.7-16% Skill required. Complex. Volatile.
Prorgessive Poker 3.45% No skill.
Sic Bo 2.78-18.98% No skill.
Money Wheel 11.11-24.07% No skill.

the only casino game where you have a chance over the long term in is Blackjack and if you do establish an edge that results in significant winnings you will be asked politely to stop -

From time to time I have a crack at blackjack and kid myself that I I am a good player - deep down I know that this is bullshit and I am just another mug punter

everything else is a tax on people with nothing better to do with their time and money

I had a similar experience with Ladbrokes. I agree totally and I also wrote a letter complaining about their , random, numbers policy as when I played it was 7 blacks in a row, 1 red, 8 blacks in a row, 8 reds in a row, absolute fecking joke. I got the same bollocks response. They can bend you over, shaft you mercilessly up the bottom and have no comeback at all.

NEVER PLAY CASINO OR EVEN WORSE VIRTUAL RACING.
