To be fair Thornton is better if playing out wide and attacking the full back and I thought that Thomson was one of the better players today.

Thought Thomson was poor as usual.
Disagree completely about Thornton being better out wide. To me he is the creative central player we have been crying out for.

What is it that Micky is seeing in Virgo as a midfielder/striker that I am totally missing?

In order to break down a shit team whose only intention is to defend, you need your best creative and attacking players on the pitch. Ours are Murray, Thornton, McLeod, and Anyinsah. So why today, as bloody usual, were two of them on the bench in order to accomodate Virgo in an attacking role? Virgo's a great centre-half, and he's perfect for this league. But he will never have the skill, pace, or touch to play a creative role. So please, please get him f***ing out of there and if he is to play, make sure it's ONLY ever at the back.

Oh, and if ever a sub indicated favouritism, it was the Whing one today. By all means move Joe upfront and put a winger on, but the obvious thing to do is take Virgo off. But no, Whing, who had done nothing wrong and is infinitely better going forward than Virgo, is taken off just so that Virgo can remain on the pitch. Seriously, is it written into his contract he HAS to play every minute? Is his ego so fragile that he can't be replaced? If this circus wasn't so serious it would be funny.

For me, it's the use of Virgo in an attacking position that is holding us back as much anything now.

Would love Adams to answer this. getting to be a joke week in week out

Why is it everybody else sees this but not the management can't defend Mickey anymore but will not abuse him but think he really is struggling tactically and the rest of league 1 see this and know how to play us,

seems sad that Virgo is being (ab)used like this. he's fast becoming a scape goat for poor performances when his only fault seems to be he's willing to play where ever asked. We all know he's a top centre back, and can do a decent job up front as a makeshift foward. i had hopes he could develop into a midfield general if given a chance, but seems he's just sloted into what ever space is missing each week. we seem to have a good squad but one too many centre backs and one to few midfielders, and a manager that cant see this for some peculiar reason.

Whing was awful today as he has been most games this season. He is a liability, he is slow doesnt win the tackles that he used to and his distribution is the worst in the team. It is sad to see that a player who was very good when he came to us has gone down hill so rapidly. As a team we looked a lot better when Virgo went to right back, apart from his one major cock up.

I feel sorry for Virgs, he should be centre back with Elphick or El-Abd. His confidence is really low at the moment, and moving him round in different positions won't help his confidence either. We know what kind of player Virgs is, but MA doesn't see it!

Thornton should be played in centre midfield, which is where he went after being switched to the right when Cox went off. I would like to see him along side Thomson with Anyinsah & McLeod wide.

I'll reiterate what's been posted above regarding taking Whing off seemingly so Virgo could stay on the pitch.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

So much for previous man management issues, if I was Whing tonight I'd be very very pissed pff.

Adams clearly didn,t rate Whing at Coventry, and I think he has had Virgo pencilled in as the regular right back for some time.

Just a nuisance for Adams that Whing has done enough to stay in the team.

Hence the decision to keep Virgo happy, by keeping him in the team, even though it is continually in the wrong position.

That is the point he hasnt done enough THIS SEASON to warrant a place

Well.....thats your point of view.........and you,re entitled to that.

I notice .......in your opinion of course, .....that you think Thomson is a good player too.

Whing wasn't good today in the second half (although did well in the first). Just before the substitution summed up the way he was fading, as he was trailing their winger by 5 yards and did nothing to try to stop the cross.

It's not Virgo's fault that he's been played out of position, if any of us were in Virgo's position right now we would continue to do what we are being asked to do. Adams, however, MUST now look at playing the best players at his disposal in the right positions, if Virgo is not playing centre back or right back he must be a sub.
