Virgo - Was That A Penalty Yesterday?

It was a definite penalty - happened directly in front of us. Byfield over reacted.

Having watched in FL show and then on you tube I am not so sure it was, as I think that it appearred that Virgo got the ball first. The big thing is the man who matters said it wasnt.

I think its a hard one, as Virgo definitely didn't play the ball from where I was stood. Seems to me that when Virgs lunges at the loose ball, Byfield is never chasing the ball, but instead deliberately runs accross Virgo so that he gets caught. Not quite sure what the letter of the law would be about that.

I think it was one of those challenges that more often than not results in a penalty. Virgs coming in from behind (so to speak!) always makes me cringe. A lucky escape but, as others have said, who cares, a win is a win.

Judging from the FL Show obvious penalty. Virgos looking in good shape though, saw him in the pub the other day sipping on an orange juice, looked like he'd lost a couple of stone from the start of the season!

Looking at the youtube thing, and on the FL show, I thought not.

It looks from the camera angle we have as if they go in together, virgo stretches, and byfield makes a play to fall over the outstretched leg.

thought it was a penalty at the time but Byfield made such a show of dumping himself on the ground that he persuaded the ref it was theatrics. After seeing it on tv and youtube I am still of the same opinion. We were lucky
