Right decision because Gus is the manager & he knows what & who he needs to achieve promotion next season & we will be promoted. There will be no sentiment in his decisions & nobody is going to be carried in his quest for success as sad as some of us might feel for certain players who will be shown the door. Virgo going will free up funds being as he is a high earner & allows Gus to dictate how his budget is allocated, he rarely used virgo so why not free up those funds. I trust Gus implicitly.

I would like to have seen a good replacement signed before letting him go. I therefore believe it to be the wrong decision at this time.

I believe a proven good defender will cost more in wages than what Virgo would be prepared to accept and a transfer fee on top if we are offering contractual terms. The way things are going in football these days though, it will be a temporary fix with a loan signing.

How do you know that his replacement has not already been lined up just not announced. Gus wants business done quickly (source pretty much every interview since he got here) so not beyond us.

Yes itswage versus value... we could do with keeping im but if he's earning a lot perhaps that money can be used best elsewhere.
