Virgin without a doubt can't recommend them highly enough and their service has been superb everytime i've flown with them.
BA :nono: sorry can't stick them, poor service and don't even mention the food...

Curious - what routes have you flown and what was so bad about the service?

Depends on the route....North America Virgin is cheaper, but for me the overriding decision is based on failures. If a BA plane is delayed then they will be able to get a replacement there in a relatively short time. Virgin just don't have the fleet size.

For Asia, BA beds are better now they have changed the matress. If economy, just go for leg rom. BA is 31 across the fleet, Virgin is 30-31" depending on the plane.

:drink:

I have said it on your other thread, but just in case you don't read it........

My brother services the Virgin 747s. If one crashes and kills me, I know who to blame.

Flown BA to US 8 times/ Oz 3 times/ China 2 times/Canada 10 times/ and loads of places in Europe.
Never had a bum flight whether in economy (Euro/World Traveller)or business (Club World/Europe) class. Got upgraded 3 times.

Flew Virgin twice to the States. Planes delayed; awful service; Flight attendants more interested in what they were going to do once they landed then passengers. Never again

Does he work at the Virgin hanger in Gatwick?

Good points here. My recent (Vrigin) flight took off over 3 hours late. But they had passengers queueing at the gate for that time. Once on board the captain (otherwise known as Billy Bullshit) apologised for the delay but said the crew had done very well to turn the flight around given how late it was coming in. The thing is, I knew the incoming service had actually landed early that morning.

Agree on the attendants - spend far more time speaking to each other about what they'll be doing when they get back on the ground and how they've used their free flights. The in-air service wasn't bad but it wasn't good either.

Invariably people who fly Virgin want the flight to be good. They get a little pack with some toothpaste and socks in and they think they've had exceptional serivce that Virgin are a cut above. In all likelihood they've just had normal service.

Flown with BA to Greece many times and elsewhere in Europe, lots of delays, unhelpfull stewardesses (sp) and the food is terrible (when you get it!! Once they didn't even have enough food on and no vegetarian options left)

Flew with Virgin to Greece also and to New York, treat you well very helpfull making sure everything is ok (not just on the long haul) lovely food and just generally all round nicer and worth spending the bit extra for.

Used to work at LHR, but he wanted to move to LGW. Don't know if he has or not though. Dave K if you know him.

They BOTH shit on American, that's for sure. Club class in BA is better than America's first class!

So Crazy Cornish gal your view is hardly objective!

IMO, and like i said earlier, the Stewards may be a bit older/wiser on BA but they look after you a whole lot better.

(And no I don't work for them!)
