I think whatever happens with this player, it definately shows that we are after a centre back and will pay a lot of money for one. Centre halfs are easier to acquire than centre forwards and for over £2m we should get a very very good one.

Could be the final piece of jigsaw for a real push for at least a play off place. Exciting times.

A journalist that covers Dutch football has compared him to Jaap Stam. He adds that he expects him to sign for a Premier League or one of the bigger Eredivisie sides. Sounds like it would be quite a coup if we could get him.

But I think getting a good decent centre half from the continent (i.e somebody who can control a ball as opposed to the typical British player hoofing it) will be easier to come by than a striker. Certainly anything over £2m anyway
