Great to hear memories of this game, even though the game didn't go our way. Much appreciated. So can anyone identify the name of the Albion defender Chris Kelly gives the runaround for the goal?

it looks like Andy Rollings but not 100%

I thought this too - however, I looked up the line-up for the day:
Grummitt, Tiler, Welch, Mason, Piper, Wilson, Towner, O'Sullivan, Binney, Mellor, Walker. Sub: Marlowe (for Mason).

Any more guesses? I must say, I'm unfamiliar with some of the names in that line-up, let alone what they look like. :)

Grummit 0 reckon best keeper I've seen for Albion. Was in twilight of career following long service with forest & Wednesday.
Tiler (Ken) classy right back, father of Carl who played for forest.
Welch - midfielder, I think injury did for him.
Mason - tigerish midfielder only about 5'4", seems he fell out of favour. used to see him out and about down Sherrys.
Piper - local lad, was cntre half so may well be him given the run around. later moved to midfield and played a big part in Mullerys early years.
Wilson - Harry was a popular left back.
Towner - local lad, very popular but fell out with mullery. Lives & works in brighton.
Sully - Albion legend. Even when his career seemed to be over he was brought back to play in Div 1 (now prem).
Binney - prolific scorer with Exeter and also for Albion but only at home games as bit of a goal hanger. It was he who was dropped for Wardy in a move that shocked many.
Mellor - spider was class but had a slow start to his Albion career. Once paired with Wardy they made sweet music!
Walker - one of those midfielders who don't seem to do much, until they are not there. I think he's still connected with Derby, Villa or someone.
Marlowe _ has achieved cult status through REMF. A striker who you couldn't fault for effort but sometimes that's not enough.

They lined up with Piper in central defence so would suggest it was probably him or possibly Ken Tiler as the rest were all short at the back not 6 footers.

I think it was Piper as Tiler seems to come in from the right. I remember it really well as I'd had nightmares all week beforehand in which we lost and memories of Walton & H were still quite fresh and painful. On the day their goal seemed inevitable and scripted although it took a lucky bounce as the original shot seemed destined for the post.
I also read later in one of the hooli-porn books (Steaming In?) that there was trouble that day but I can't remember seeing any.

We did seem to have a bit of a weakened back line, although that should have been enough against a non-league team. I was too disgusted to hang around after the game but they did have a load of sarf londoners down for the day.

I still love it when L'head & Walton get beat.
