Woke up thinking we had pulled this Jansen deal off at the very last minute. Wow what a disappointment. Our recruitment plan over the last couple of months has failed to deliver on our most important objective of increasing our striker options. Inflating prices and bad luck have no doubt played a part, as has our strategy of holding out to get that VFM left field deal. Need to give CH and the players a chance to prove they can pull this round but if we struggle,as most now fear we will, it will feel like we have created a self inflicted and avoidable barrier to our survival in this league.

For the long term good of the club, I actually think signing Jansen would have been worse than not signing anyone.
It was a desperate move.

Bit annoyed this one fell through.

He's going to struggle to even get on the bench at Spurs now, so a loan would have been perfect.

Chance to prove Spurs he's worth keeping and if he turned out to be shite Brighton have not wasted a load of money.
