It's the problem caused by only having 5 subs.

Bad for players better for the game

Or

Bad for players, bad for the game.

Depending on your view point.

It's like when you start a new job on Football Manager and go on a spending spree. Our squad is now huge, they can't all play.

With El Ebd coming back and a good run of form i dont think he will get back in the team this season

Silly old bat
Vincelot needs an operation on his shoulder to stop it dislocating. He has been known to put it back in joint whilst still on the field. The op means that he would be out for three months so he has delayed it until the summer. It's only recently that we've had enough midfielders that he doesn't have to cover.

Both Gary and Tommy are back running I believe and both could be fit before the end of the season. Painter is the other injured player but I understand he is back training with the squad this week.
Vincelot is competing with Calderon now to be the utility defender on the bench (remember Calde has played centre back this season too).
Greer is a nailed-on starter with elAbd and Dunk competing to play alongside him.
Bridcutt will start as long as he is fit with Navarro also playing unless we go for a more aggressive set-up
Harley and JFC are possibly on a par behind Sparrow who in turn is behind Razak for a central midfield spot.
Vicente is probably competing on a par with Sparrow but is behind Assulin for a wide midfield berth. KLL and Noone will compete with Buckley for a starting place or a place on the bench in rotation.
Up front it is a matter of perm two from three with CMS, Barnes and Vokes and Agdestein is not too far behind. Barnes will only be sacrificed for a more aggressive pairing if Gus is happy that our midfield and defence can manage without additional cover.

Is it an embarrasment of riches or is it strength in depth? Certainly not a bad problem to have and Gus doesn't seem to be coping too badly at the moment.

Thank you severnside.

Perhaps you can now tell me the result at Doncaster and our final league position as it will stop me worrying.

When you read that it just shows how big our squad is now. There are players there that you have listed that were playing first team football a few months ago that were not even in the match day squad on Saturday for one reason or another....Vincelot, Harley, JFC, Spaz, Painter, Dicker, Hoskins (I know he is on loan). We also didn't seem to miss at all the absence of Vicente and Noone either, what strength in depth.

Vincelot and Harley were discussed this morning. Gus said they know where they stand no secrets or lies. They need to be at their best in case anything happens they must not give up.

I wouldn't place much creedence on what Gus says in a press conference.
Ernest will surely spill the beans over breakfast tomorrow.
