A d&r perspective on romain

He was fantastic for us. Midfield workhorse, never ever stops running or chasing the ball down. Only 5 foot 8 ish*but the majority of his goals come from headers - has an amazing leap on him
He was top scorer for us last season, got into double figures from centre midfield which is pretty impressive for one of the teams at the bottom! Got him a couple of seasons ago from a lower league French side when he was scouted up from a 6 a side competition - they say that he came over to England in the back of a van!
*
He was also trialled with Brighton while he was here but didnt work out.
*
My favourite player, sad to see him go - very sad but you now have CMS and Romain! We're fast becoming you're feeder club!

Was impressed with D&R in their games against us last season. Sorry to see them go down. Vincelot played very well in the play-off final the previous season.

Hi I'm the author of the blog. Thanks for the comments about It much appreciated. Although romain is untried at this level he is far too good for league 2 and more than held his own in league 1. We played him as an attacking midfield player last year and for a small guy he really has a spring in his legs and wins a lot of headers. He's a brave lad as well, took a real knock at colchester last year that made him unconscious for a few minutes and when he came to he wanted to carry on playing.

We will miss him.loads this season but as is the way with our club We give players a chance and then let them move on when the bigger clubs come in for them. It's frustrating sometimes but you get used to it. Anyway I hope he does well for you lot, give him a chance he's a top lad. Good luck for the season with another ex-dagger Craig.Maxwell smith joining you as well you've certainly added some goals to your squad. Cheers Anthony

I think he'll be just great for us, thanks for the info on him. As for your comment about bigger teams coming in for your players? Even though we're spending big recently, I still feel like we're lower league scrappers with you guys. No matter the hights we achieve, I don't think I'll ever lose this.

If nothing else, Vincelot will be pleased to be out of those shitty red and blue colours. I mean, what sort of a team dresses that badly?
