Villa tickets

T5 block in the North Stand - looking at how many tickets are available on Seatwave, got to be worth a blue and white smash and grab. Unlike 'Boro last season, these are available through a 3rd party, so not quite the same.

I would still exercise caution and not publicise an Albion invasion in that area. West Midlands Police will have a say in segregation and in my experience they don't tolerate anything that might increase their workload. In my opinion they will go overboard if they think Brighton fans, even those in a purely celebratory mood, get too close to Home fans. I've witnessed (and heard of) too many innocent away fans spending their match time in the Aston 'nick' with a visit to Sutton Coldfield Magistrate's Court a few weeks later.

Pretty sure buying a ticket in the home end isn't a crime.

I agree.. West Midlands Police are possibly the worst police force in respect of harsh treatment...Step out of line a little and you will be in the cells!

I would think buying an Away ticket isn't either but seemingly if the WMP don't like the look of you your card is marked. I understand the point you are making but the people that I know that have been arrested before even entering Villa Park were doing nothing untoward...nothing (unless one guy holding the match tickets and then handing them out outside the ground is unlawful now. In my case- I wasn't arrested by the way)We were all on a Work's jolly to a game at a ground we wouldn't normally go to (Villa being always top-flight) Some of the lads brought their kids and did the Megastore thing before the game. Four were pulled out of the queue for the turnstile and escorted away...for doing nothing! A couple asked a lone police officer what it was about and he told us just keep a low profile and go and watch the game. The upshot was we all met up after the game and went to the resulting court case. A few off-duty coppers even turned up to support their mates. They hadn't reckoned on our union getting involved and my mates were represented by a barrister - the case was thrown out and the police admonished for even bringing the case to court. A total waste of time and expense. And I have heard of this being a regular occurance at Villa Park

The Doug Ellis stand is about a 9k capacity, and our allocation looks about a 3rd, which accords with 2700 tickets. Might be wrong, but I think our allocation looks a bit like this:

Sounds like a nightmare. What were they charged with?

It won't come as a surprise that when a vote was held in the 90s for the police force least well disposed towards football fans that the MET only managed second place.......

Whether that has changed I know not.

It was a good few years ago now - I can't remember the actual charge used (Breach of the peace?). As it was we were all train drivers bar a couple of platform staff and they tried to say our group was 'pissed up'. In actual fact the blokes arrested were all on early turn the next day so the last thing they would have done was get tanked up the day before. The barrister made great use of this. We were all upstanding citizens and professional people who wouldn't risk our livelihoods in this way. I was one of four witnesses and none of us were called - it was that cut and dried.
One of our group was indeed a Villa fan and he said that this was a regular occurance at VP

If that's correct and it appears blocks P9, P10 and P11 have not been released for sale that their is hope for those of us without enough points

P8 isn't available at all on Seatwave, whereas there are 60 odd seats in P7. They might be they are able to offer up P8 as an additional block, and assume that is about 400 tickets.

Beggars can't be choosers, I'll see how it's looking but WILL get one today. Nearer the halfway line the better for me. This will sell out so why not make all blocks available?

No idea, but then being sensible on ticket release never seems to happen.

I've never understood why like concerts you can't just pick the individual seat you would prefer for away games. It would save a lot of problems between those that prefer to seat against those that prefer to stand, and enable more mates to gather together close to one another.

One day maybe?

Imagine if it sold out to 1901 members. The Albion parading the Championship trophy to 2700 people, sat there in complete silence.
