Our resident finance expert reckons that they will be in huge trouble if they go down.

Current ownership is just about keeping them afloat even with PL cash now

Just goes to show what a quite phenomenal job Dean Smith did to get them promoted from the 6th placed playoff spot.

When you read the insane amounts Villa have spent on dross, it makes you appreciate what we have here. The club don't always get it right, but if the worst were to happen, we would be fine with the sellable assets we have, plus not paying insane wages. The likes of Villa & Bournemouth could well be screwed. There is sure to be a fire sale if Villa go down. Aside Mings & Grealish who would be well outside our financial scope, with the latter failing the **** test by a mile, I'm struggling to think of anyone in that team who I consider would be worth snapping up.

They'll sell Grealish for a hugely over inflated amount to Man Utd in the summer.

Spurs would be a more likely destination IMO. He's far too good for Villa, whether they stay up or not.

They were absolute PONCE tonight, I can't believe they mugged 4 points off us this season. Depressing.

How can Villa Park only be worth £56.7 million? Couldn’t even build one of their stands for that. Absolute nonsense.

Valuation in accounts isn’t based on rebuild or historical cost, they’re completely irrelevant.

Instead, it’s achievable open market value if resold.

That potential buyers being limited to Birmingham City FC and large house builders who’d bulldoze it for housing.

Grealish made Gross look lively, tonight. Over-rated show pony. Lovely legs, mind you. Anyway, Grealish is Villa 'threw and threw' and on far more money than anyone else would pay him so, in terms of being a one club man (in both senses) I recon he's the new Matt le Tissier.

I'd take McGinn in a heartbeat, as good as Grealish in my book, and may well pass the no dickheads rule.

He was shithouse tonight along with the rest of them, but he's been carrying that team all season. They're lucky he's stayed fit, because without him, they'd be around where Narch are right now. Personally I think he's a terrific player, better than Maddison and Mount.

Whether he's another LeTiss remains to be seen. If Villa drop then he'll certainly move on IMO. If he has England ambitions, which I think he does, then he ain't going to achieve them playing against Hull and Reading next season.

Villa managed to stay within the FFP limits due to the ‘sale’ of Villa Park and a compulsory purchase order for part of their training ground for HS2

Tommy Elphick says that Grealish is a decent bloke and good family man, however he comes across on the pitch.

TBH shin pads and hair apart I'd imagine all of us would fail the 'no dickheads' test were we wearing the stripes and playing for the Albion, as opposed to any other club, when it becomes just a job.

I'd also have to wonder where it all went wrong for Mr Bloom.
