It really is incredible how many managers and players are heading to top clubs from the Portugese league, the youth systems of Benfica/Porto/Sporting must be top notch.

Silly for me, Ancellotti is an experienced manager, who won the double in his first season over here. Boas, was Mourinho' s chief scout over here when he was Chelsea boss. So he knows a fair bit about the premiership I suppose.

Quality manager and only 33 I think they have a bargain - as long as they don't sack him if they only come 2nd and get to the Semi of the Champions League.

The man is a phenomenon, with Hiddink as Director of Football as well I can only see big things for Chelsea next season.

Wow, it's a manager. I thought it was the name of a designer hat with a bit feather in it.

Risky move for him a young very well respected manager who could have walked into any other top club. Chelsea will never give him time to develop the club and could easily be out of a job by Xmas if the results are not to the Russians liking.

The rumours suggest he is going to have hiddink at the club looking over his shoulder as well

british press have reported umpteen times that the £4m compensation asked of Turkey for Hiddink has been a stumbling block in sorting out his appointment. now the portugese press reckon they are happy to pay $15m for their second choice?

which press to believe? neither? or nearly £19m for both !!!

On the Guardian as well, Boas is very much in the mold or Mourhino, having followed him from Porto to Chelsea to Inter as an opponent scout before taking the full time job at Porto, he is a meticulous at his job.

I'd imagine Chelsea would do very well under him subject to the Russian fella not forcing any squad decisions on him.

Porto are by far the best side though in their league before he got there? Stick Liverpool or Tottenham in L1 or the Scottish Prem and watch them not loose a game! Even with my cat as their manager they'd probably win the league. She's not worth 15M unless she's hiding something. Does thrash me at FIFA and Football Manager though so maybe.......

It remains to be seen what the major xfers are for the top 6 clubs this summer, but at the mo, I would say they will not win the prem without a lot of changes. United will be stronger, City may be a lot stronger. Chelsea will just be older without an overhaul.
