Oh, I can be as profoud as the next person when I choose to, but the gaggle of sycophants that provide nothing but blind indifference to any issue if it has a whiff of a negative slant, is starting to get right up my 'ooter.....Well done Sir!
DKM makes reference to empty vessels and you promptly prove his point with some facile noise

Awww diddums, does Mummy not like it when people say nasty things...... get a grip will you.

I sympathise with you to an extent, but I think the people to whom DKM was referring weren't so much those who say "Crikey, another match without a win, well this isn't much fun is it?" and those who say "We're utter shit" or "Has that win saved Poyet's job?" or "How much longer has Poyet got?" or "How long before the fans turn on Poyet?" All can be summed up as people who are stupidly impatient and think that every season should be better than the one before. They are just as irritating as the Panglossian 'look how far we've come and get a sense of perspective' happy-clappers.Oh, I can be as profoud as the next person when I choose to, but the gaggle of sycophants that provide nothing but blind indifference to any issue if it has a whiff of a negative slant, is starting to get right up my 'ooter.....
The article was good, well crafted, exactly what a blog should be,.... my response was to the sly dig by DKM at anybody on here, or indeed in the wider Albion community, who might take issue with a particular topic or scenario that doesn fit with the blinkered views touted by what I term the NSC inner sanctum.Oh dear, someone took that article a bit personally....
Indeed, although he wrongly assumes they're newbies, when in fact they're dull old farts.Excellent, I particularly like the way he fingers the NSC miserablist crew.
Agreed, but a forum is what it says on the tin, a platform for people to sound off, so there is inevitably going to be the usual 20-60-20 split in terms of strength and matter of opinion. I dont agree that they should be slagged off just because they may offer a negative now and again. I cant stand Barnes,... but thats my view from WSU,... others think he is Pele.I sympathise with you to an extent, but I think the people to whom DKM was referring weren't so much those who say "Crikey, another match without a win, well this isn't much fun is it?" and those who say "We're utter shit" or "Has that win saved Poyet's job?" or "How much longer has Poyet got?" or "How long before the fans turn on Poyet?" I suspect we may drop off a bit in the coming few years, but I feel that it will be because of the transport/parking battles, not because he keeps playing Barnes.. ok that last bit was a bit mischievous but you get my point.I think you will find the gaggle of sycophants represent the vast majority of our support right now. The day we see average crowds drop below 14,000 at the Amex I will be right behind you.

Not sure - is your point that you know more about football, and our players, than Poyet?I suspect we may drop off a bit in the coming few years, but I feel that it will be because of the transport/parking battles, not because he keeps playing Barnes.. ok that last bit was a bit mischievous but you get my point.
Here is a good example,.... what do you actually think then Trigaaar? Not sure - is your point that you know more about football, and our players, than Poyet?
... Panglossian ...

Nice word
I may tip myself into the upper 20% category from time to time EP, but there does seem to be a need to stretch beyond the normal params on here sometimes just to make your point. It has worked for you on many threads sir, and some of those I have even enjoyed challenging. If Barnes started doing 'the business' ( in my view), I would be very happy, but my 49 year old eyes and brain are not yet dulled enough with age to make me blind and stupid.I don't think anyone claims he is Pele though, you are exaggerating and being extreme, and that provokes reaction from other fans.
From reading your posts it appears you WANT Barnes to have a bad match, and it is that mentality that leaves me bewildered.
Appreciation and democratic questioning are not mutually exclusive.I don't know what was sly about my original post. I was re-enforcing the opinion expressed in the good, well crafted blog, that the "new fan base need to get a grip". These are not the people I meet or talk to about the Albion, or most of the posters on here. But there are a few posters who as Brovion points out question Poyets position based on a few draws and defeats. These really are the greatest of days for our Club - and there are some empty vessels on here that seem to have no appreciation of that.
That old cliché, the inner sanctum or cliques on a messageboard!
