one of my pet hates is the standard normal "Fan" like yourself stating these things, just because a few blokes like a good punch up does not mean they are not Fans of their club. I've nown a few tough nuts who know more about The Albion than half of NSC put together...and they we're invloved in a shitload of 1970s violence but they are Fans just like you or me.....so quit with your "FANS" perspective please

I am partly with you on this but also with Phil...I agree that there are blokes following the Albion who have been involved in trouble in the past...but at the same time the behaviour of those West Ham/Millwall fans last night hardly shows their clubs in a good light, despite their somewhat misguided loyalty.

At the same time the pictures of their antics being flashed around the World hardly help with the bid to bring the World Cup to England in 2018, an event that would be enjoyed by all football fans...including the vast majority who have never been involved in any form of disorder, whether associating themselves loosely or otherwise with any football club.

i would imagine the type of lads who were fighting outside the ground and in the side streets wernt the type to get there camera phones out. Lads in ground are fat old blokes and over-excited youth who will be banned for life, some of the blokes having it outside however may have more than a few screws loose.

all iv heard is in the big battle millwall came out on top:fishing:

What I have never understood about the people who get involved in this sort of stuff is why they have to do it in public. If they really want a proper 'ruck' why don't they agree to meet on a piece of waste ground away from the police any chance of any ambulance service being in the vicinity or any chance of mingling back in with the crowd when things get tough.

Oh, it couldn't be because they are all pathetic little people who will run and hide the moment things get too bad. Never thought of that.

Not so much thrill in that. Like shagging whoares all the time....Yes it is very good but where is the buzz of the chase and pull ?

A waste land isn't your manor so wouldn't need defending, would be no boozers for the banter before and after. The anticipation is what the buzz is

Which is what Ajax and Feyenoord fans did some years ago...if I remember rightly, some of them even threw homemade bombs at each other!

What utter tosh. Waste ground doesn't need to be far away from a pub. By all accounts there were running battles for six hours last night - when the pubs were open.

They want to fight in safe circumstances - perhaps they should take up boxing.

They are not fans though are they. Get pissed up and use football and rivalry as an excuse for violence. This could have a big impact on our chances of hosting the 2018 World Cup. Just when you think the dark days of the 80's has gone, mindless idiots like this spark it up again.:nono:

as said before, many are probably more passionate than anyone on here.

As for hosting the world cup, rather go abroad for it anyway. Would be a shower of shit over here

Nice idea, but boxing is strictly regulated...you have weight divisions, set bout times and a referee to ensure that things are as safe as possible within the rules...can't see your average footy hoolie going for that, no kicking on the ground, using bricks or knuckledusters, three on one situations...all far too civillised!

HAHAHAHAHA

You read the papers too much buddy! If you think last nights events will have ANY affect on us getting the world cup then you are VERY VERY VERY naive person.

It's all about the money and has NOTHING to do with how well behaved the home nation fans are. That excuse is just something that is trotted out any time there is trouble so folks who'll believe anything they read in the press will get on their high horse.

I see your point, but dont call me naive. IF English football returned to prolific hooliganism, then there will be NO WAY it will be given to England. Money will have nothing to do with it Im afraid. FIFA have invested alot of money and resource into combating hooliganism at football grounds, they would look a bit stupid if they gave tournament to a country still rife in football related violence.
The events of last night are a stark reminder ,and will bring out all the bad memories, and the bad reputation English football once had.
