Oooooh this video was on the football league show...hope u charged

I thought the football league owned the rights to videos of the pitch? I mean, isn't that why you can't take cameras and photograph/record? So they wouldn't need to pay. Also when you upload to YouTube I thought you sacrificed all rights too!

Maybe because it was 1-0 and we were pressing for a goal?

But this does not explain the overall reason. I really do find it odd that people feel the desire to record the game on a phone. There was some chap in here the other week with about 3 minutes of footage which contained that Vicente free kick. The quality in this case, and most cases, is poor and it's also widely available from various media outlets if you really want to have it captured forever so what is the motivation? It also removes you from the moment as you're distracted. Why not just sit back and enjoy the moment instead of trying to capture it on film? I am genuinely interested in the thought process here.

I will defend Arshely Barnes as a player for as long as he's at this club. I AlWAYS want him to do well, but in this case, I have NO excuse ready.

That appears to be one of the most stupid things I've ever seen a player do.

When I heard "apparently he's tripped the ref" I thought, "oh come on, no one would try that. Surely it's crossed paths", and then I watched the footage.

Stupidty.

But it's done now. I hope after he's served his ban he can come back and add something for the last few games. I love seeing a player who cares as much as he does but he HAS to channel that the right way.

Sorry on my phone and on the train. Basically I actually think Barnes behaviour was acceptable considering the decisions. I can't believe I am saying that! But it was a game worth investigating.

When is it acceptable to try to trip the ref?!

I can see the fa in his defence hearing saying ' oh I can see it now, the ref did not give you as many decisions as you wanted so you tried to trip him- not guilty '

Really?

Totally agree with this

Not a big loss if we get a loanee and tbh honest the ref was more than very annoying.

I can't help feel the refs we have had it in for us over the last two years. I think it Poyet had a public outburst or something, like ferguson does, a couple of years back. I can't remember?

When is it acceptable to try to trip the ref?!

When someone has thrown a knife that is head toward's his head, and you don't have time to reach him and pull him to the ground, and he can't hear your cries, so you lunch feet first to trip him so he falls out of line of the projectile.

Sensible and balanced post - obviously you're on the wrong forum

I like him as a player but he has some serious behaviour issues that need counselling. Let's hope he gets the proper help during the time he is banned for.

I've spent this season desperately trying to see the good in Barnes and sometimes he's played some smashing football which made the task a little easier. Then he goes and acts as he did yesterday and just shatters the illusion.

The lad has left us in a bad situation at a crucial stage of the season and for what? A couple of bad refereeing decisions?

The club need to have a proper chat with him and get him to sort out his 'anger problems' if that's what it is.

This! When he got sent off earlier he sais he has learnt from it and will curb his petulance.....now looking at a four match ban....I defend him as a player but he has to grow up.... last coupole of mins.......he has let the team down....let Gus down and let the fans down....STUPID BOY!
