Why would he bother now? Come May he will be off. As long as he plays like he did yesterday in 30 mins I couldn't give a rats arse either!!!!!

As already mentioned, is almost definitely off at the end of the season so why bother? Half the team speak Spanish anyway!

Just listened to interview and didn't hear him say anythnig about the future or that he'd be leaving etc..?!

You two sound like those people a couple of months ago that insisted he'd NEVER play for us again... I wouldn't be so quick to make assumptions. He seems genuinely happy here from what I've seen and heard.

There was a lovely moment on Saturday when Buckley came on, he ran straight to Ulloa to give him instructions. Buckley then ran off only for Ulloa to turn to the bench fling his hands in the air and shake his head presumably having not understood a word.

I also saw this.

Ulloa was pointing to his ear at Gus in internationally recognised sign of "what the f*** did he just say to me?"

I don't think you properly read what I wrote. I don't mind his English being poor, but would object to him making no effort to speak our language. If he is learning then that is making an effort and fine by me. In fact I am kind of hoping your supposition that he lacks the confidence to be interviewed in English, is correct!

As corrected by someone, Gary Dicker said he speaks reasonable English.

It probably doesn't help that all the Spaniards hang around with each other away from the club, where no doubt they speak in Spanish.
Well, what else do you expect from bloody foreigners, eh? They come over here, they take our jobs, score our goals...

Everyone know that those 200k Brits in Spain just pretend they can't do the local lingo. In actual fact, they can often be found conversing with each other in perfect Spanish, which they do just for the hell of it.

As for Vicente, he must have been bricking it when that interviewer got going. After all, nobody expects the English Inquisition.

They did a pre match thing on sky with Spanish players at a local restaurant. Everyone turned up except vicente. When the interviewer asked why he wasn't there the other players just burst out laughing ..... He likes to take a siesta was the response with more laughing.

The guys a complete enigma, I wouldn't be surprised if he speaks fluent English !!!

Yeah, interview was quite good. Good spanish team spirit other Vicente it would appear. He's now just here for the money. He rarely plays and can't really justify the money he must be on for so few appearances. Yes, he's great when fit, but we really need a class midfielder for the future.

He's just here for the money? How much is he on exactly? (Seeing as you must know)

I love the NSC token response to the dagger.

Vicente doesn't play for 3 months
"The injury's in his head, what a waste of wages, he's a disruptive influence on the squad."
Vicente comes back and has a poor game
"He's not interested, he doesn't want to be here, he's just picking up his money and waiting for July when he can move back to Spain."
Vicente comes back and is brilliant
"Yes he was amazing... but only because he's putting himself in the shop window, he doesn't give a shit, what a mercenary."

Do you love football? Do you love the Albion? Have you EVER seen a player as accomplished as Vicente play for our team before? :ffsparr:

Don't get me wrong. He is probably the most talented footballer I have seen in 50 years of supporting the club. I am talking about value for money and investing in the future. I am just uncomfortable paying top wages for someone, however talented, who is rarely available for selection. So my answers to you are yes, yes, and possibly not.

As Spain are the best footballing nation on earth at the minute and our best players are Spanish speakers then I would say that our non Spanish speakers should learn Spanish. After all you shouldn't expect the teachers to adopt the language of the pupils. Vicente still has half a season to prove that his wages for the last year and a half have been worth it. He started well on Saturday tho'.

Fair enough. On the question of injuries there has clearly been a problem. However I maintain that at least some of our better signings have been attracted to the club as a result of the great man being here. When Vicente signed, I was so excited because I remembered the match when he played against man u at Old Trafford and in a team of stars he was simply outstanding. The only player I can compare him to in terms of ability and skill and the excitement I feel when he plays or receives the ball is Wardy. There has been a long time since I felt anything like that in football. I was a child when I felt like that last but now I'm 46 and the same feeling is back. I dare say if I was a man u fan I would be desensitized to the feeling but for me, an Albion fan, it is novel and wonderful and I don't want it to stop. I simply love watching the magic that is Vicente and personally I would pay an extra 100 on my season ticket even if he only played 10 times.

On the subject of Vicente doing an interview in English, perhaps he's worried that people on here would be as scathing about his attempts to master the language as they are about Barnes's. Orlandi, btw, speaks exceptionally good English. Tano too.
