I'd love to be able to go back and find who the MONGS on this site were arguing with my statement earlier this season that Kazenga is a HUNDRED times the player Noone is.

Turning down £1.2m for Noone in January when we have two of the best wingers in the division, both of whom are in a different world to him, is surely one of the greatest mistakes in our history.
& the award for first pointlessly negative thread on a great night goes to you. Why the hell can't we be happy to have them both & what exactly would we have done with the noone fee anyway? Kaz having a good game doesn't have to reflect on someone else ffs

Nothing has "gone wrong". He always has been and always will be an average player who belongs at the bottom of the Championship. He just happened to have a couple of months of reasonably good form which coincided with us getting a lot of publicity thanks to the new stadium, playing Liverpool, Leeds and West Ham on TV etc. That raised his profile massively. In reality, he's a £300k player, which is what we paid for him. But Cardiff were reeled in and hooked by the highlights he showed in August and September. So now he's just gone back to normal, rather than "wrong".

To be fair to Noone, it's not his fault he is shown up by Kazenga and Buckley because he does his best, but unfortunately he doesn't have the GOALS, the potential to unlock teams, the final ball or the SHOWBIZ status of the other two.
were you born this miserable & ignorant or did you go on a course? ???

I doubt many other club's fourth best winger is as good as Craig Noone.

I dunno mate, I think he has got a point.

Buckers, Kaz and of course Vicente are a class above Nooney. He gets down the wing well, but totally lacks end product.

If Twinkle Toes gets banned for his insight, ban me too please.

Kazenga was brilliant tonight, but Vicente was - & indeed is - different Paella. It was an absolute joy to witness the pair of 'em tearing Derby to pieces. Flair-tastic Scenes.
Kaz was man of the match for me. Vicente is the best player I've ever seen in the stripes, and he was amazing tonight, but Kaz had so much of the ball, and beat his man so many times it was embarrassing. The best player on the pitch isn't always in the position to have the best game - but wow, when Vicente has the ball, it's just f***ing awesome. They surround him, and he just keeps running with the ball.

Now that we've shown him off, I imagine he's going to be taken out a fair bit in the next few games. If they can't get the ball off him, they might as well give us a free kick before he's close to the area.

Well played.

I think you're wrong about Noone, however. At the start of the season he was rightly THE man. His cross for the CMS opener against Blackpool, way back in the summer, was an absolute peach and Noone at his peak. He was immense at the start of the season but Buckley and LuaLua have overtaken him and now Vicente has claimed his rightful position at the front of the queue so it's difficult. Noone looks to me like the type of player who needs a settled run in the side to really hit top form, which he won't get with everyone fit. At the start of the season he was almost undisputed. Some players thrive on competition, I don't think Noone is one of them. But he's still capable of causing a team serious damage on his day.

As for Vicente and LuaLua tonight... There are no words for how special it was watching the pair of them. It's such a shame Kaz slightly buggered up his moment in the first half. Funny as though it was, it was a shame he didn't score. I can't imagine how much he, Noone and Buckley will improve just by being around Vicente.

And let's not forget the role Alan Navarro played tonight. He himself said the team need to find out how to get the most out of Vicente but keeping the back door firmly closed and it's safe to say that they did that tonight and the reason, in my humble opinion, that Vicente and LuaLua were able to be so brilliant is because they knew that Navarro and Bridcutt were prepared to completely sacrifice themselves for the benefit of the team. They did nothing really to showcase their own ability, they just made sure that the ball was given to our attackers as often as possible and they got on with defending when we didn't have the ball. It was a masterclass of how a team should play.

It's to my eternal disappointment that I can still read the whinings of you-know-who when he's quoted by other posters (since he's been on my Ignore List for ages). Perhaps he should do the same thing with me if the poor Lamb can't take the heat from an 'Internet Bully'? Per-leeeeese.

4 good wingers is a must for a team who are serious about doing well in the Championship. What's wrong with having 2 good players for each position ? Can't understand anyone knocking the fact we have strength in depth? Fishing surely?

I think TCB has called it right, but in his usual inflammatory twattish manner. Two reasons Noone wasn't sold I reckon. Firstly, at the time, Vicente was still crocked and Lua Lua was out of favour. Secondly, Cardiff are a play off rival. Selling him sends the wrong.message, annoys the player leaving him with a point to prove, and directly damages our own prospects.

Oh and I can't be arsed to check but I'll bet TCB was one of the MONGS calling for Vicente to be sent home with a paid up contract, about four weeks ago.

All our players are world class, even the ones who are not getting a game at the moment. I was very impressed with Dunk last night. He just slotted in like he has never been away. It just proves what a great player he is.

Hard to single out players but on any other day the performances of Vicente, Barnes, Nav, both full backs, Greer and maybe others would have been worth a MoM - but can't argue that KLL didn't merit a MoM for that performance.
