Yes I know they are free, but the selection of players available for signings was pathetic, at my 7pm party there was only really one regular first teamer, Calderon. Then you had a Dicker and Bridcutt, who are just about first team, and the rest were all reserves at best. I can identify the majority of the team but I didnt have a clue who most of the people were from the development squad and it was obvious none of the kids did either, they are there to see the likes of Murray, Barnes, Bennett, Greer e.t.c, not some nobody from the development squad who has made the bench once.

it was free ffs

My boys were at the 3pm party. Greer, Murray Gus and tanno in attendance as well as dunk and a few fringe players. My boys loved it and were just in awe at the whole thing. For a 3 year old, meeting players, face painting, bouncy castle, tea cups, penalty shoot out , dancing with gully's girls and a raffle which we won a signed ball on was a really good time. Well done all who arranged this.

My 7 year old was star struck at meeting Gordon Greer & Gus Poyet at the 3pm party.
Never been to one before, but all told, for a freebie it was pretty good and most importantly, my lad loved it.

We do have some absolute knobs for fans though.
I overheard a guy moaning because his daughter missed out on a go at table football because she had ran off a few seconds beforehand...evidently she would only have had to wait another 5 mins before another chance.
As it turned out, there WAS a space for her, so the organiser ran after the dad to say his daughter could have a go after all - and basically got met with a load of abuse.
Prize c0ck-end.

It's a real shame the club get knocked for doing something! My seven year old got a free shirt and party invite this year, we did the 7 p.m. and the poor star struck lad who met Calderon and was able to use his limited holiday Spanish on him was so elated I can only reiterate my thanks to a club who are right at the centre of our community. Like people have said the club and parties have increased in popularity as others switch from Chelski, Man Ure etc ... I hope there are so many kids at Falmer and we start to see Albion shirts worn on the streets of Arundel, Chichester, Horsham, Burgess Hill, Lewes, Hastings, Crawley, Brighton & Hove.

Well done to everyone involved.

My 3 year old took great pleasure in telling Gus (with no hint of irony or sarcasm) he'd just scored two penalties in the shootout. Gus then told him not to say it too loud in case it upset the players next to him, before then turning to the players and telling them that a 3 year old was scoring penalties for fun. That made my boy feel really good that his achievement was being bigged up by the great man.

You cant buy those kind of experiences for kids and the fact it was free, really highlights how good a job was done. yes my boy would have loved to have met Calderon, Elliott Bennett, Adam El-Abd or Gary Hart but he was focussed on who he did meet rather than who he didn't.

First time I've been to one. My kids loved it, they got to meet Indigo (who was a very pleasant chap), had their photo's taken with all the players (some of which I didn't recognise) but hey its free. Good job by the club imho.

This thread is embarrassing.
The club lay on a series of free partys for the kids, yet because "only" Calderon, Dicker and Bridcutt there from the first team its supposedly a big disappointment ?? I suspect the kids all had a great time at the party, and the only real disappointment is from the parents who wanted to rub shoulders with more players.

That's superb and exactly why there parties are great. This made me chuckle a lot!

My Grandson loved it and could not wait to come round and show me his signed football and autograph book. He loved the penalty shoot out and talking to the players.
Well done to the club, they are really building something here with the youngsters in the area that is an envy of other clubs.
You only have to go on the Palace board and see how their fans are saying that their club should follow Brightons lead. I know one fan has written to their chairman about it and he has promised to look into our scheme.
Well done the club.

My kids went and had a great time, even though they missed out on seeing Bennett (the main reason they wanted to go). They soon forgot though given everything else that was going on, and Gary Hart was at the 7.00 party - LEGEND! I think it was another brilliant effort by the club.

My boys were at the 3pm party. Greer, Murray Gus and tanno in attendance and were well drunk.....

Sorry ROSM but that's how I read it first time??? (joke everyone!)

seriously, I was gutted my 2 year old missed out on the 3pm (which was the only feasable option for him) because I left it too late, but I believe Gully's Gang is a fantastic club for the young uns and won't hear a bad word said about it

I am truly amazed that anyone could find anything to complain about at what is truly a fantastic effort by the club. We should be singing their praises from the rooftops of the Amex stadium! I really do think the OP should be suspended by his gonads from the Withdean floodlights and let's all watch to see the icicles grow. Imbecile!

They'd rather meet Barnes than Dicker?

These children know NOTHING about football.

The players were split into 3 groups for the 3 parties. My boy and his mate (7 and 8) both loved it, my son is Albion through and through, his mate joined gullys gang in September and now supports the Albion instead of being a Liverpool "fan". With fewer players who weren't there for all of the parties I thought they seemed happier and had more time to chat to the kids (and parents!) than last year. For a free event put on by the club I thought it was great, and it was fantastic to see so many kids in albion shirts - these are the future support of our club and it is good to see the club putting something of this scale on (3 parties for 800 kids each party).

Thought the same, my lad loved it. Adam ElAbd and Barnes were very friendly as all the players were. Painter and Kish were also chatting away and in my eyes are all first teamers??

They can't be expected to sit down signing signatures for 5 or 6 hours can they? They have to swap the players about.

Well done to the Albion!
