This is horrible news. Great character and such a talented rider

Makes you realise how much you put your life in your hands every time you put your helmet on.

RIP Marco

Chinster, Edwards did hit him at about 100 + mph.

Horrific incident. Truely horrifying, especially for those of us who ride motorcycles day in day out.

Ride safe all of you out there brothers.

Can't believe it!! RIP Marco you will be sorely missed. I was about to go out for a ride, but i've kind of been put off now. Makes you realise just how fragile we all are when out on two wheels.

Sad news indeed. Only started getting into the moto gp this year. Thought he was a little nutty but made it more interesting to watch. My thoughts are with him and his family. RIP.

I hope Edwards and Rossi are looked after also, they must be feeling pretty awful at the moment

Terrible terrible news. I'm not a biker myself but have immediate family who are, i love watching bike racing on TV, ride carefully out there everyone. Our football is minuscule in regards to losing your life.

RIP Marco

Indeed.

It must be especially devastating for Valentino - as he & Marco where good friends. I still can't believe this has happened today, although I did take a very deep breath & witnessed the horrible incident on youtube. Even though I realise that motorcycle racing is inherently dangerous (& I've even witnessed a number of fatal accidents in the flesh): I feel stunned by this loss tbh.

Rest peacefully Marco & my deepest condolences to his girlfriend, family & friends.

Turned off TV when race was cancelled and went out for a couple of hours, hoping Marco would pull through. Came back to hear the sad, sad news. Even though there is an inhernent danger to MotoGP, it was such an unlucky accident and there was nothing Edwards or Rossi could have done.

RIP Marco and thoughts go out to him, his family and Edwards and Rossi.

I wonder if Valle will not call it a day now. He and Marco were very good friends and we know Valle has already had offers to move to 4 wheels. This must be devastating for Colin and Rossi. I'm almost breaking up over a man I didn't know dying in this way, I can barely imagine how they must be feeling right now

Sad sad news. Marco was going to be the next big thing in MotoGp. I think many thought he would fill the inevitable void when Rossi eventually retired. Sadly not to be. RIP Marco

Awful. Just horrific. I hope his family and loved ones are able to take solace from the fact that he died doing something he loved and at the top of his field. So sad to see great talent cut short.
