Before VAR, that game would have finished 1-3 0r 2-3 Leicester.
But I guess I will take it on the chin
Why? The Lino gave EVERY decision - VAR gave nothing?!

Yes the subjectivity is whether he was blocking Sanchez view and therefore interfering. Could have gone either way but once the lino called it not enough in it to over turn.
always loved VAR.
the victim mentality that quite a few fan bases have in this league over it is pathetic. Norwich, Leicester, Arsenal. Probably others I've missed
The penalty is debatable, I agree.
But the offsides were not. And I agree Sanchez view was not necessary blocked. But Barnes was in an offside position and by being so close “ interferes with the movement of the opponent” and/or “ impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball”.
Good question. Having thought about this I think Barnes and Leicester were a bit dumb to try this tactic as we didn’t have any players on the posts and the balls were being delivered away from the goal. This latter point invites both teams to push up ; he left himself very exposed to being offside. All things considered I think Leicester were stupid.Did Barnes make the same mistake twice or were we deliberately pushing up on the taking of the corner?

The offsides were totally correct.
You can't just stand in front of the keeper in an offside position like that. It obviously distracts even if marginally and 100% is offside.
The penalty was definitely a handball, but the argument would be whether Maupay fouled or not... For me this was a 50/50 and wouldn't have been too upset if it wasn't given.

Linesman flagged both offsides didn't he? Also he called the ref over regarding the penalty too.
It’s not just the blocking view. If you’re standing next to the keeper you’re impeding their potential dive etc. He actually made contact with Sanchez I think just before the header. So think both were offside. But we need to defend set pieces much, much better again.
The penalty wasn't 50/50. Maupay had a hold of him and as he moved towards the ball tightened his grip. He was struggling to jump hence the flaying arm. Astonishing decision.
Penalty? Nah. Maupay foul. Leicester free kick.
Offsides? Yes, both of them.
Lucky? Yes, with the penalty and being dominated for much of the second half, BUT ..
.. we are still owed and deserve luck after the lack of it last season.[/QUOTE7
Was not lucky , for a change the officials got all decisions right
Rodgers admitted that Barnes was placed there to stop Sanchez coming for the cross.
Apparently he had a great take and quick release in the first half, which prompted Rodgers to place him there.
How he can then be considered to not be interfering with play is beyond me.
