Anyone see the Vandals prog on BBC1 last night?
There was a large bit on the 'Jedi Knights' of Worthing, they showed a video of them smashing things up and generally causing havoc.
They even showed the video to the victims!

They caused so much trouble, and guess what punishment they got........










Fines between £50 and £1000.
British justice.........priceless.

That programme managed to bring out the hanger and flogger in me, which is no mean achievement. Why on earth do they do it? I felt most sorry for that milkman.

There was reports of them attacking people on a regular basis too, considering I live in the area and regularly stagger home in a drunken state late at night it is quite concern.

The government is supposed to be 'toughening up' the laws on vandalism, so what are they doing upping the fine.
Surely these offences should carry harsher penalties?

There was a family being picked on in Newcastle.

People were either throwing things at the house, stealing stuff or using the back garden as a short cut!

The owners spent (£6k?) on video equipment to catch the culprits in the act and the police said they still didn't have enough evidence!

Someone snapped the wing mirror off my car last week. If I ever catch the toerags I'll thrash them to within an inch of their lives.

Forget fines, pack the ne'er-do-wells off to the army for a spot of national service. They need some discipline and personal responsibility drilled into their thick skulls.

Bring back the stocks! I reckon having to spend 4 hours on a Saturday in Churchill Square in a set of stocks with a sign next to you saying what your petty crime was would be enough to deter most young scum. Nothing more effective than public humiliation as a punishment.
