Just seen twitter explode with the news that van Persie is refusing to sign a new contract at Arsenal, effectively opening the door for the money men at Citeh to make a mockery of the upcoming FFP and break the bank to sign him.

He could just be doing a Rooney, because he is saying it's not about the money, it's the club that are not signing the right players and he wants to go, we all know what happened here, Rooney more than doubled his wage and suddenly those worries went away.

He could just be opening the door for a bumper pay rise to move to City....

Who knows. Is there any loyalty in football any more? I think this is one of the more higher profile potential free-transfers if he does run down his contract. Citeh have quite a few ex-Arsenal players now.

To be honest I knew he wasn't going to say, I don't know of any formations where you could play 3 centre forwards (I know we did last season, so lets just say that works), Podolski and Giroud paved the way for him to go, despite Wenger's comments. Was never gonna sign unless Wenger got rid of the dross and bought a couple of world class players in which of course won't happen. You don't pay taxes on huge losses. Corporation tax is paid on profit only...
