Can’t see why the club spent 2 years trying to sign him.

I think he's been bought as a back up / replacement for Estupinian.

He seems to want to keep the game moving as well as trying to play the ball forwards rather than backwards. He pinged a lovely ball into the area in the second half but Pedro and Welbeck were about a second behind his thinking. I think Pedro was having a go at him about it. My take is the players have had the quick thinking drilled out of them, and Barco hasn't been assimilated yet.
