RDZ couldn’t look any more disinterested as he did last night. He used to be up and down that touchline with the enthusiasm of Gary O’Neil now he just watches on with his hands in his pockets.
Do you think he looked ‘disinterested’ - I thought he looked pissed off that Adingra was making poor decisions, that we were getting numerous shots off but only 2 on target and no goals, that we weren’t shooting when we should - we should have scored at least one goal from that lot.

No point running up and down the touch line when we were basically playing a good game everywhere else on the pitch bar the expensive error that conceded us a goal and Wolves were playing very deep in their own half - it was in the Wolves goal area where we repeatedly let ourselves down.

And yes, maybe the news of Mitoma possibly out for the rest of the season could take the wind out of anyone’s sails on top of all the other injury 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes he looks like he'll adapt quickly but I'd say rdz is right he needs more time to understand our play. He was brought on late on chasing the game on hope he might make something happen. I recall Buono getting a similar run out just after arriving.
Roberto has made some very positive comments about Baleba but that's CM which particularly in our system requires those patterns to be bone deep to play successfully. WBG spoke recently about how he couldn't understand what was required for some time when de Zerbi arrived.
Anyhow it's the PL and we're almost always competitive and even in poor losing performances we play the odd bit of breathtaking football.
It's all f***ing marvellous if you take a step back.

Out of interest do you think RDZs reps have had conversations about their client to bigger teams while he is still under contract with us? Or is this something journos are making up?

I believe RDZ cares about this club. But RDZ cares a lot more about RDZ than us. And I don't hate him for that.

As the potter man said , it is what it is.
OK, that's fair enough. But I'm no so interested in that sort of stuff I'd let it inform a narrative that triggers a deduction that the manage has a 'bee in his bonnet' about the ownership. Jesus f***ing H Christ. It's hard enough coming to terms with an occasional bad results. I don't need the Spanish Inquisition. Especially when it isn't actually Spanish. Or indeed an inquisition. More the Dwaynish perquisition

I couldn’t tell if he was very, very small or just a long way away.

That said he did some good stuff, he linked up well with Enciso (brilliant to see him back, he’s ace)
Like a AAA Duracell, you know, the one with the copper coloured top.

He put in some useful crosses to Danny, won a few corners and throw ins but inexperience showed in places too with some overplayed passes:

A promising debut performance in terms of physicality and confidence (loved him standing on the ball!) I hope fans give him the patience though he deserves to allow him time to understand RDZ’s system and his role and that of his teammates. I would be interested to see how he can perform against a team that was not sitting very deep by the time he came on.

A good background piece from Tim Vickery, especially on where Barco will fit in …

I compared Barco to Hinsh after our game at Wolves, not so much because of style but because neither player is a traditional L/RB - they both are multi-positional, very much attack-minded players who would be wasted in a traditional L/RB position - RDZ’s uses his LB (at least Pervis cf to Igor) as more of a wingback but is it possible we might find a place for him in a defensive midfield position? He substituted for Igor but his debut didn’t really give us an idea of his defensive capabilities or what he would be like as a deep-lying play maker (Regista) which could be his potential imo.

I think he's lightweight for a DM but see him anywhere on the left side as needed, rotation or full match (we've had enough injuries there and Mitoma will be sold at some point)

He has certainly shown potential on his debut - possibly more Prem ready than some of our South American youngsters.

Seems his long term position might depend on who we sell first- Estupinan or Mitoma?

It’s exciting we have a young player with that flexibility but I would really love him to develop into a preferred role rather than just playing where we need him because he can (if that makes sense). It’s like Hinsh - before he was injured, he was proving a great cover for Veltman, especially as we were without wingers at some point, so was useful in a more attacking FB role. I think Buonanotte’s development may have slowed down in some respects by using him so much for a cover for March rather than giving him the opportunity to develop a more central role. Conversely he may have not have had the chance to bed into his preferred central position at all unless we’d lost Mackie or even had so much time as a winger if March had not been injured, so I guess it works both ways and that is just how it works with youngsters breaking into our first team squad now - a deeper squad means much more competition to earn a place?

Why would anyone boo him at Fulham? - (I know you’re obviously posting in jest but I’m not seeing it?!)

By the time we play against Fulham it will be March. We signed Barco in January. 2 months and 0 goals/0 assists. Do you really think that’s good enough?

Booooooo.
Good enough for what? I’m still confused!

If you are saying he is not good enough for 10-20 minutes of EPL football then why did RDZ assign him to the first team. He has to start somewhere and having minutes off the bench is it. All I have said above is I’m sold on his potential, that he looks confident and bulky enough to cope with EPL and that he comes across as a very attack minded, positionally flexible player who could create some decent assists.

@Stat Brother jokes about booing everyone, I guess as an as a reductio ad absurdum response to people criticising our amazing players. I, for one, find it very amusing and hope he continues to do it for a long, long time.

I realised Stat was joking about booing, didn’t actually realise it was a thing tbh - however, it was this comment I was referring to in your quote of me

Sounded like a direct question in response to my earlier posts remarking on his potential …we have more than enough fans on NSC all to willing to jump on young lads as soon as they sign with negativity and doubting their talent so I was just warding off what was apparently more of the same (had it for months on the Buonanotte thread!)

Obviously just baiting in retrospect so I’ll ignore any further comments from this poster 👍

If you know he was joking then surely you could see my comment was just doubling down on the joke?

Baiting ffs :dunce:
