With me a young technical fella pushed the three tiny buttons top right hand corner of my phone and lo and behold one of those square minecraft signs came up.
No way did I have any indication that is what I had to do.
I had the blue and white season ticket showing on my phone.

North stand. Around 10 min wait outside the ground for a non Covid / ID check. Then into the ground easy. Majority had masks on the park and ride bus there, barely any at the ground or on the bus home. Can’t say anyone looked too bothered with the lack of masks.

What an absolute waste of time. Zero checks of anything. Apparently the queues were to big to bother to check. Hope they get this sorted if it becomes mandatory in October.

For entry into WSU no covid check and cross reference to ID. Turnstile scanners are very flaky. My phone has NFC but after 4 attempts tapping on top it would not work. In the end I had to ' show code ' and then hold upwards and scan underneath.

And in the last few days kept getting texts and emails club suggesting I had not yet downloaded my ticket!

Thank god all thetnonsense countered by nice three points.

I think they may have to do full checks in October but your suggestion would be the way to go.

If full checks become mandatory the reality is that people will have to turn up ridiculously early before kick off times for them to be done properly. This will be compounded by flaky turnstile scanners and not enough stewards.

Arrived around 4:50ish...

The first issue was figuring out which of the many snaking queues was for the West Stand Upper.

Once we'd got that sussed the long queue moved along at a reasonable rate. Some distance from the turnstiles themselves people were checking Covid status and ID. It was a quick check, and probably wouldn't catch everyone trying it on, but checked it was.

NFC tickets worked quickly first time.

As others have said, there was no pat-down, which didn't register with me until reading it here.

Others arriving later into the WSU suggested the Covid checks had been binned off and there was still no security of any kind. "It was like being back at Wembley for the Euros" was one comment!

I showed my Covid pass, no proof of id required and definitely no enforcement of mask wearing within the concourse.

Zero checks to get in. Almost zero mask wearing. Felt just like a normal game with none of this covid bullshit, well done to the club. We are back.

There seemed to be some confusion at around 5pm to which queue was which for the North Stand and WSU, this was near the club shop and Dick’s bar.
I joined the queue for the WSU entrance, another fan asked me if this was the queue for the WSU, fan in front of me tried to tell me it wasn’t, seemed to confuse others joining the queue as he was insisting it was the for the North….he was wrong.
There was definitely no stewards directing fans to the correct queue at this point.

I did actually leave the queue and sat on a bench for a while just to let it die down, I could clearly see many fans in the queue for the WSU got half way and then realised they wanted the North Stand.

When there was no queue for the North and the WSU queue had thinned right out ( approximately 5.20 ) a steward appeared and was asking fans what stand they wanted……well done, better late than never

I got in before kick off, so no problem, just need stewards directing fans to the correct queue next week.
