He's brill, isn't he?

But: is "supporting the team" always the same as "agreeing with the actions of the club"?

No. No it isn't. Heaven knows where we, Brighton and Hove Albion, would be if it were.

Not sure I quite follow what you are saying. There is a world of difference between the actions of a management/owner in trying to run the club down and profit from it's closure with one that has been trying to find that elusive striker but has been met with sellers changing their minds, players not wanting to come and failed medicals etc. Some of the moronic threads on here such as those suggesting TB should go are, I would suggest, the type of 'supporter' that Uwe is effectively having a go at.

He's entitled to tweet it but referring to anyone who is criticising the clubs failure to land a striker as moaners is a bit strong in my opinion.

I imagine there have been a few stronger words going on at the club than we have seen on here. Bloom and Barber have also publicly aired their disappointment you are always going to get a more extreme version of this from fans who are less measured and more emotional in their responses.

Yes there are some idiots posting nonsense on social media but players need to rise above that and if you think we are bad have a wander on some of the arsenal forums.

As others have said you can believe the club have made mistakes and support the team at the same time.

Cannot speak for others but my criticism of the situation is nothing to do with the quality of the players we have more the quantity. One fit striker in a match day squad is far from perfect and Hughton is managing with one arm tied behind his back.

Fair play for him coming out and tweeting but support would have been there at West Brom regardless of his tweet.

One thing do agree with him time to move on and back the players we do have

I don't think critically appraising the transfer window and supporting the team are mutually exclusive at all. Team spirit and support from the stands counts for quite a bit, as we saw last season. If we think the squad is short a couple of players then it's all the more important to back the ones we do have for the whole season.

I think we are entitled to moan about the lack of strikers. He is paid a fortune to play here, where as many of us are financially stretched to continue our life long passion for the club. To say stop complaining and moaning and START supporting the team is also an insult, we've supported this team through thick and thin. I like Uwe, but we've waited 34 years for this and this club is a big part of our lives. So with all due respect, I think he should shut up and keep out of it.

oh little man syndrome ---shut up and keep out of it ---is good advice for you ? ---oh vicious one

There you go, defending your Hero. That's obviously how you see the players. Anything they spit out, you'll willingly lick it up, you sad f#cker.

What do you mean by that? People who lick arses don't like having thir own arse licked? Pople who lick arses don't like being criticised? Who is licking whose arse exactly? This is all getting far too German porn for me. :lolol:

Quite right. My country right or wrong is just as unapealing and totalitarian in a football context as any other. Brighton fans are no more critical than the fans of any other club. How you do it may be important but slavish, uncritical support is rather pathetic and players and executives should not ask for it
Exactly..... we are all entitled to a view... and fully entitled to voice that opinion.... it is an entertainment business after all.

Critically appraising? I think that generous in the extreme considering some of the ill informed ranting on here recently!
It's a bit ill informed to assume that the ranting was ill informed.

Blimey - that's a bit harsh!

Also, is it only the 3 of us who have noticed that there is a fair chance this is a spoof tweet?

I have a feeling someone somwhere is choking over his cornflakes right now. . . . . or do I mean Zauberfleks? :lolol:

But that's not how life is. He's human, what's more he cares. If he didn't he wouldnt have written that. They're probably all feeling a bit wounded and having a pop back isn't unprofessional or shouldn't be allowed because of how much they earn. It's a two way street and I love the fact he's been brave enough to offer his opinion that isn't the usual corporate conjured c rap.

Unless we fans can't handle a bit of criticism of course...? :)

Well said. One of the things I like about this group of players is their straight talking. Whether it's a Dunk interview, a Uwe tweet or a rant from Stephens about not getting a move a year ago, it's all honest.
Not sure I'm bothered if the people dishing out criticism don't like getting a little back.
