A gentle jog sees him through the latest heat of the 200m. Only 0.75 off the world record and he eased up with about 50 metres to go. This man is incredible.
1435: Bolt strolls the second 100m of his semi-final like a man running for a bus but not wanting to make it look like he's running too fast in case he misses it and looks stupid. If you know what I mean. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/live_action/7569398.stm
There is a theory that he could break the world record - certainly at 100m - but that he is holding back to break it in small increments at the lucrative track meets that are held around the world. Big bonuses if you break a world record - so why smash it at the Olympics if you could skim it again and again for the next year and get massive bonuses?
Word of warning - the ever so wise Steve Ovett makes that point that this could be a mistake. No matter how good he is, this is a purple patch. He is unlikely to be in such good form in a years time (injury, form dip etc). Ovett thinks this is a high risk game and it's a shame we won't be seeing this guy smash some records at the Olympics - where it should be done.
