USA - Slovenia - What's good for us?

I was trying to think about what result would be the best for us.

What are you hoping for from that game?

I want a Slovenia win, even if it means we HAVE to win both games to get top the group.

Draw is quite clearly the best result. Wouldn't feel too great about Slovenia winning to be honest.

The best possible result would be a 0-0 followed by a 2-0/3-0 England win (touch wood, not the kind Danny Seagull is thinking of...).

A Slovenian win and a win for us against Algeria means a draw against Slovenia guarantees us qualification.
Even a loss to Slovenia could see us still go through...

Slovenia v Algeria was the poorest game i've seen so far and i can't see either team winning against England or USA

A confortable 3-0 for us as well, will do nicely.

i can see the usa smashing several goals past them, us only scraping a 1-0 or 2-0 and then being under massvie pressure in the last group game to get our goal difference above the americans to avoid meeting germany in the second round

Best outcomes for England.
1. Draw
2. Slovenia win
3. USA win

Obviously a draw will put England in pole position if we beat Algeria.

If Slovenia win it will almost knock out the US as long as we can beat Algeria.

If the US win, it puts pressure on us to beat Algeria to be in the top two, and if we somehow f*** that up it will make things very difficult.

Double H if we can't handle the pressure of beating Slovenia then we don't deserve to go through.

Do we want to face Germany early or Ghana, who by then would have the whole of Africa cheering and vuvuzelling them on?

Quite frankly I'd rather face Germany and get it over with.

Surely a big slovenia win is best for us.

Puts them on 6 points - so if we win both games puts us on seven and we top the group.

If we win tonight a draw gaurantees us going through second.

If we draw tonight a win in last game sees us qualify and would maybe only need a draw in the last game if USA and Algeria draw.

In fact with the Germans losing coming second may be best for us ?
