Blistering on the Merc though. Can't see him getting to the end on these tyres but if he comes in now he will come out in 3rd. Kimi closing by a second a lap so looks as if Hamilton is cruising to get to the end which I think is the wrong strategy but almost too late to put now as Lewis will have a huge amount to do to catch and overtake Max on track.

They’re making the likely LH second place (due to tyres) seem like doom and gloom.

Really poor strategy from Mercedes. Why have they wasted about 10 seconds on track when they must have realised they couldnt make the end. Hamilton will need a monster end to the race to take the title now.

Max's tyres will be 33 laps and Kimi's 35 by the end of the race. Surely Hamilton has a good chance of catching them
