Will operate under the US F1 brand to satisfy the FIA.

The move is being pushed by Youtube entrepreneur Chad Hurley, who was speculated to move to Campos Meta but face opposition from Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson who STILL want an all-American entry

But Bernie favours Stefanovic and I can see Windsor being pushed out. I predict this is the work of Chad Hurley, superb marketing by him

The team will basically be half American half Japanese (with quarter Serbian obviously) being run by a Japanese engine and driver with also a North American driver and backed by an American entrepreneur

no thats an educated prediction. so we'll have to consider this on the same merit, that it *might* happen, rather than it has happend.

Well this quote from Stefan F1's website has just been put on the BBC pages

Formula 1 hopefuls Stefan Grand Prix, who do not yet have an entry, say they will unveil their new car in the next week, and have launched a stinging attack on troubled US F1 team. A statement said: "[The ] dreamers from [the] USA will have to explain their actions, because they are deliberately weakening F1 with [their] dreaming of [a] perfect world and fairytales about success. And success doesn't come by talking but with hard work and lot of guts."

Doesn't exactly sound friendly does it.

Stefanovic has also revealed that he had discussed a merger with US F1 - which has a 2010 entry but has asked to miss the first four races as its programme is a long way behind schedule. He said these talks had now collapsed despite positive approaches from US F1 investor Chad Hurley.

"Yes, it is true we had some discussions stretching over many days, but these broke down completely on Thursday afternoon European time due to the inflexibility of certain players," Stefanovic said.

"I stress it was not Chad Hurley, who was open to discussions with us, but some of the other stakeholders who sabotaged the talks."
