Just found this quote, to me it about sums the whole thing up;

Over the past five weeks I have not met one person who had a passionate word to say about Mr Kerry one way or the other. Though I don't doubt that some exist, the Democrats I have encountered are primarily motivated by their hatred of Mr Bush. "If they put up a vacuum cleaner against Bush we'd vote for it and just ask them to change the bag every now and then," quipped Gene Lyons, a columnist for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The whole thing makes me very, very sad. The champions of democracy running an election in such a way that they themelves would have a blue fit if it was in Iraq or Afghanistan. Is it Democratic to continually slander the opposition? We are as bad over here. Why do the opposition never agree with something good the government do? They can't disagree on every single issue, surely?

My concern is that the insular vast majority of American's will vote Bush back in because of his cowboy tactics when it comes to defending the US. They couldn't give a stuff how they are perceived outside of the US - completely ignoring the fact that it will impact hundreds of other countries.

No idea what Kerry would be like but it's Anyone but Bush for me. But I have a nasty feeling that we will neevr find out what he is like. 4 more years. :nono:

Politics really depresses me - the answer to me is obvious. Goverment should carry on with decisions such as taxes, interest rates, budget's etc. But why don't they, once a year, give us a list of questions when we go to vote? Do you support a ban of Fox Hunting? Do you support new gambling laws? National lottery style technology would make this a breeze and it really would be the will of the people then and would encourage people to vote.

Party politics is a joke IMHO. Just because I support a local candidate on his views on local issues, doesn't mean I agree with his stance on fox hunting or war on Iraq or gambling. And his view will probably not be reflected in the way he votes either thanks to party whips. As I said, if a Middle East country operated the way we or the US did, Dubya would be bombing them.

Unfortunately, there is a Golden Rule in American politics:

"He who has the most gold, makes the rules."

That's why Bush and his cronies will win, however many people vote for Kerry...

I fear a Bush win, although Kerry is stronger than Gore in my opinion, and that was close enough. The maps of states likely to vote for either are interesting - Bush holds all the central states, Kerry the coasts - it seems JK is the thinking man's President, but Bush's appeal to patriotism and the Bible belt should see him through. Unfortunately.

It is worrying how the most powerful man in the world will be voted in by the most naive people in the world.

Hunter S Thompson has some passionate things to say about John Kerry.
I don't think he's the ideal candidate, but he is decent, intelligent and will repair a number of broken bonds if he gets elected.

Be nice if they finally had a democratic election, as whichever way you look at it, Bush actaully lost last time around.

Annoyingly, I think Bush will triumph once more, resulting in further terrorsit attacks as people relalise that Bush is actually what the American people want. Very sad indeed.

They're predicting a very high turnoput which is usually favourable towards the generally lazy stay-at-home democrats. But I can't help feeling that Bush will pull it off... by hook or by crook. One thing for sure it's going to be close and there's going to be lots of controversy and if the D (Disunited)SA gets more polarised serious civil strife is only just around the corner....

Not forgetting the likely nuclear war if he does go into either (or worse still both) of Iran or North Korea.

Wont make any difference, apart from the frogs will tell Kerry to f*** off in revenge for Bush. The Congress will shitcan Kyoto, either the Yanks will bomb Iran or leave it to the Israeli's. business as usuall.

Looney, I'd just like to congratulate you on the correct use of the apostrophe in the word "I'll." Keep it up.

But you did miss one elsewhere.
