Worthing
Seems the EU are declaring war on the UK. UvdC has just announced that, regarding us rescinding the Internal Market Bill, 'as of today we have received no such agreement with the UK'. Next step is legal but if that fails watch out.

Surely it is the UK that has 'declared war' by passing an act to break an agreement with the EU?

No-one has 'declared war' for goodness sake, it's that kind of hyperbolic language that stokes the divisions that have got us into this mess.

UK are breaking a legal contract, what exactly did they expect the EU to do? Can you imagine the frothing if it was the EU breaking the contract!

Is changing Von Der Leyen to Von Der Chamberlain some kind of 'hilarious' joke, or just cack-headedness?

Very well said. Dialling down the rhetoric is the first step to dragging our divided nation back together

Not sure I understand this comment

Me neither. 50/50 of whether it's a joke that was wider than the mark than a McCammon volley or whether he's one of those that is in some way, still deriving some type of vicarious glory from the second world war

I think the UK " Declared War" when Johnson pronounced they were intending to break international law.
