I've been offered a place on this course, but I don't know a huge amount about it.

Has anyone done it?

Is it worthwhile?

General thoughts?

I applied for Geography.

It's at Sheffield (University of).

Well, Sheffield is a fantastic place, and the uni is top notch, so i'm sure you'll have a great time if you do the course. It just depends whether the degree will be any use to you once you've finished (and how bothered you'll be if it's as much use as a chocolate teapot.)

I got offered Dutch at Sheffield through clearing, but i went for my second choice instead. Not really sure whether it was the right thing to do, but i had a good time all the same. Anyway, Sheffield is a great place so go for it if you fancy.

Good for you man, you'll have a great time. You can be on the best course in the world, but if you're in a shit city at a uni that doesn't have a decent set up for students you'll never enjoy it as much as you would a dodgy course at a great uni and city like Sheff.

What were your other options?

Cardiff was my second choice.

Others were Wolves, Sussex, Aberystwyth and Reading.

Make sure you revise up on counter arguments as well as articles on why courses like this are a waste of space. You can then have brilliant stand up rows with your tutors during Lectures.
